5 week old suddenly has latching problems

DD was a superb feeder right from day 1, we never had any problems with anything including latching. Then suddenly a week ago she got problems latching on to one of my breasts. Lots of slurping, milk spilling down everywhere, only staying on for a few seconds before becoming unlatched kind of problems. I don't know where it came from!  I've been rereading Ina May's Guide to Breastfeeding, specifically about how to determine a good latch, and the problem is that when she's on the boob, it looks like a good latch, so I don't really know how to correct it. I'm wondering if it's because one of my nipples is pierced- the one she has a good latch with- and if maybe the 2 different nipples are confusing her? Milk flows so nicely as you can imagine through the pierced nipple that she barely has to suck at all. Could this possibly be the culprit?

Anyone have any ideas?

Well, you could always nurse from the breast she latches well on, if the trouble on the other persists.  Just leaves you looking lopsided.
