Hope to learn alot from all of you, me and my hubby just got married in April, he is in the Marines and we have a wonderful 19 month old boy who is very active, we yet have to get out Tricare in order as he is still in school. Everything is very new to me, but we are working on this as a family. Hope to talk to you girls.

Had my babe 3 weeks ago... she turned out to be a girl. Roxanne Marjorie. Our family is finished with 1 boy and 3 girls.

Waiting on September to find out if hubby gets his promotion (and a low number to actually get it), we're hoping or we can't go home in December (his current job has leave all sorts of wonky for Christmas, no one will be able to go home if they have kids in school) if he gets promoted he will change jobs and we can just hope that it will be to one that allows us to go home. If not, it will be 2 1/2 to 3 years from our last visit before we can visit again.

And I really want to get back in December. We just found out yesterday my mother in law has breast cancer and I really want to go visit her. She's such an awesome lady and I hate that she's going through this. My mom had breast cancer nearly 10 years ago, I know my mother-in-law has great chances (She had surgery yesterday and they already checked her lymph nodes and it hasn't spread, she's going to do radiation therapy now) plus my husband has his 10 year class reunion just before Christmas and he would love to go.

I'm still waiting for my bleeding to stop post-Roxanne. I want to be able to start losing weight again.

I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease during my pregnancy, endocrinologist thinks I've had it for the past decade since they kept rediagnosing me with hypothyroidism and then it would "go away" but never checked my antibodies. This is good news, I'm medicated now and she thinks doing what I normally do I should slowly lose the weight I've put on... and if I focus on eating a little better and getting more active, I can (safely, no less) lose about 3 pounds a week since I won't be cutting my calories/nutrition too much or burning too much.

congratulations on the baby girl!!!!!!!!!!!  and great name btw, winky.gifwinky.gif

glad you got a diagnosis that is making sense and you can get yourself taken care of, i just looked up what it was and it looks frustrating, i hope you all the best!

boy i hear you about wanting to go home, the army has ruining 3 of the 4 trips we were planning this summer and they were just little 4 day road trips, but ones i was soooooo looking forward to. thankfully i did get to go home for the most important one, i probably would have left dh at work and dragged the twin on a plane solo if i had to to make that one.

I dont live with my hubby as he is still in school, and frankly I dont know if I will be able to do all theses moves, when I have a good job in Boston and actually earn more than him. It's difficult not to be able to be with him every day, although it has helped us through all of our problems. I know he wants us to move to his permanent duty station when he gets there, but I don't know if I am prepared to do this or if I'll ever be prepared :(.

It's hard on the partners who work to keep their careers going, I decided to stop schooling for mine when we got married and will always ponder in a part of me whether that was the right thing to do, most of the time is clearly was. But that doesn't make it hard.

Like it or not, being a military wife is a lot like motherhood - any way you slice it, there are sacrifices as well as rewards. You just pick out the sacrifice/reward mix that works best for you personally. I'm a stay-at-home, just like my mom was before me; that works for us. It's not what I planned, but I'm very happy with it. One of my best MC wife friends would have gone crazy without her career, and probably lost her marriage - my grandma was like that, too, as a Navy wife during Korea. There are as many solutions as there are individuals. You'll figure it out! Just stay honest and be as flexible as you can be without losing yourself, and you'll do great.

Hi everyone.. i havent been on mdc much lately. DH is close to coming home from AT, and I've been missing him like crazy. He only has 3 months left in the marines! Also, I rented my dress for the ball, and it's fabulous! Here's the link for it: http://www.renttherunway.com/shop/designers/badgleymischka_dresses/rufflesredgown

(Not soliciting, but if anyone wants to use this let me send you a referral link)

the link does not work, but the service looks really useful, i would love a link, specially if it gives you some sort of perk for signing me up!

nice to hear dh is coming home soon, is it strange to think about getting out? how long have you guys been in?

on a side note, i so want to go to a ball, i haven't been to one since christmas 2010 right before the twins were born. i love that i have a ball picture when i was 33 week with the twins, it is a great picture.  i might be crazy, but i love balls.

I'm not renting it for the $350 it lists it as. My first choice is being discontinued so they told me to pick whatever I wanted no matter the cost :)

how is everyone that is in the path of Sandy? all battened down i hope?  we got thinks pretty prepped up her in the DC area, still hoping it pushes father north, but either way i feel mostly ready.

DC is the land of hte power outage, it seems to be hte national pastime around here. I just wished we owned out home, i would have installed a generator so fast!

we are in the DC metro area, there is now no chance it wont get to us, all i hope is that the power outages are minimal and folks dont get too stupid on the roads with downed trees.
