Nighttime waking

Hi everyone,

I'm sure their are a million threads already on this subject but I'm really strapped on time and a bit sleep deprived to go thru them all now.

My son just turned 7 months. He sleeps in his own crib but I bring him into our bed to feed at night and sometimes he'll sleep a bit with us. We coslept for 4 months but in the end felt we all slept better if he was in his crib. He currently wakes around 2 times per night to feed. Sometimes it's more but it's a very rare night he only wakes once. We've tried getting him to go back to sleep without feeding him once during the night. It seemed to work for a little while but now he just cries and I give in an feed him. The pediatrician says there's no reason for him to feed at night. He's above 99% in height and at 97% for weight so he's definitely healthy. He's also eating solids 3 times a day.

The pediatrician suggests the Ferber CIO method but I'm still not comfortable with it. Does anyone have any alternative methods. Any suggestions appreciated as well as reading that might be useful.

Thanks!

My LO is almost 7 months and still wakes 3 times per night to nurse. I think it is normal, despite what your pediatrician says.

I have to say you are really lucky that your LO only wakes twice a night.  Our little one wakes 6-7 times a night, or every 1-2 hours.  It's all a matter of perspective!

Hi Redmom,

Yes I'm realizing twice a night is not so bad but after 7 months it's taking it's toll. Have to hang in there. :)
