Need to come up with about $1000 quick :(

Does anyone have any ideas lol.. The amount is actually $1600, but I bet I can yardsale and sell the $600. But I doubt I have enough stuff to get rid of than the $600. I picked up every shift at work possible, so I am tapped out there as well. I think dh can get a few extra shifts.. Anything else I can do??

Oh and I have between a month and a month and 2 weeks to do it! AHHHHH!

Depends on how desperate you are for the $.  You could sell your wedding rings if you had to.  You could also sell plasma, but I've heard that's a painful process.

Oh I hope you get some tips.  My ex has stiffed me for about $4000 in child support over the last 3 months.  I have got to recover some ground.  I am sinking and my credit cards are about maxed.  Even if gets caught up there will be about $1000 in  interest and fees.  YUCK!

Start looking on craigslist for people who need childcare. Offer your services for whatever hours you aren't working already.

What are your dh's work hours? Can he get a second job?

Some things will bring more money if you sell them on craigslist or ebay than at a yard sale. Try to sell higher value items individually.

Yep to the child care.  I hate to beat the proviberal dead horse but if you coupon you can probably cut tons from y our grocery budget.  IDK what bill you need to pay for what you need the $1600 for but is modest needs still around?

I always see day jobs on craigslist such as delivering flyers, corner playcard advertisers, labor type jobs. Labor type jobs especially in the fall ... I bet you could do some lawn work  (or your husband) to make extra cash. If you don't see an ad for this, offer your services.

Ask for a loan from someone.

As a very last resort! $1000 is not that much if you focus for 4 to 6 weeks. Don't spend anything besides bills and cheap groceries. If you and DH both take extra shifts, that should really help.

And put any spending completely on hold! It can be so easy to spend a little here and there and then be shocked at how much you spent.

I would go to neighbors and friends and offer to clean for them. 40 to 60 a house adds up quick.

I ditto the suggestion to sell items on craigslist because it will likely bring in more cash than a yard sale.

Cut any and all non-necessities immediately. Depending how desperate you are, you could call up creditors (i.e. student loans, maybe even other bills/mortgage/utilities if you've always been on time with them) and ask if you can delay or skip a payment just this once. I don't know how they'd react, except I know student loans particularly tend to be really good about allowing you to do this!

Do you have any services you can offer or products you can make/sell? Any skills (and obviously you'd need the time to actually do it)? Anyone who owes you money or who could pay you in advance for something (babysitting, birthday gift, etc.)?

How about your W2 withholding -- taxes, 401K, etc? Can you reduce how much is taken from your/DH's paychecks for just a couple months?

I had to come up with $2k within a month.. so I KNOW how you feel! We sold a TON of stuff on craigslist and ebay.. wedding dress, jewelry, Cutco knives, books. We also got a loan from DF's brother, and sold him back his computer that he sold to DF a while ago.

Good Luck!
