x-posted from breastfeeding challenges.... wasn't sure where to post originally & thought this might be more appropriate...

I've got a 2 1/2 y/o still nursing. Not often, some days more than others, but usually at least 3 times a day. I've also had a couple of health problems that seemed to be postpartum-related. I've never gotten a straight answer from a doctor on whether or not (and how) continuing to nurse might affect my own health.

Has anyone explored this type of issue? I'm going to see a more holistic-minded doctor & I really hope that nothing is related, but I can't help but feel like my body is just not itself while I'm nursing. Specifically, I am slightly anemic, have below normal platelets & mask of pregnancy (not all related)... none of which has gone away as expected (though all showed up at the end of my pregnancy or during the postpartum period).

I really hope that the new doctor will help me address these issues through nutrition or by getting down to the cause, etc. but I also fear that I will have to wean (& I really, really don't want to do that... not only because we've planned on child-led weaning but also because we've been through a series of transitions lately so I don't want to add this to the list).

Anyone face something similar? Did you have to wean or have you successfully addressed your health issues while continuing to nurse?

Thanks... feeling sad about the prospect of weaning but also worried about my health...
