almost 5 y/old constantly "checking"

DD2 is driving everyone crazy!  She suddenly started verifying what we say all the time.  "Did you say, 'yes'?"  "Did you say 'I love you'?"  etc, etc.  If we turn it back to her & ask what she thinks we said, she gets it verbatim or close to it every time, so we really don't think it's an actual hearing problem.  Maybe some kind of auditory processing/paying attention issue...  But it really is driving everyone nuts.  Any ideas on how to handle it?

Maybe you could prevent it by making sure you are down on her level and have established eye contact before you answer her.

hugs my oldest seems to listen in on adult conversations at times and it is quite annoying. big hugs.
