birthing center in sanford florida « Back to Group Discussions

i found a lovely birthing center not to far from us but i dont like the idea that they push you out 4-6 hours after birth. why not birth at home than? i dont want to because i have small children and will not be able to relax with them around. they have no where else to go either. i like the whole bed and breakfast atmosphere idea and would like a night or two to babymoon. it is not possible in my home for that so it is not an option. the place is called heart 2 heart in sanford florida. i guess i should call to find out if it is an option to stay longer otherwise i will just look for a midwife who delivers in a hospital as it is manditory to get away from this zoo to give birth.

Hmmm well my BC I had DD in was like that, it is b/c of the limited rooms. I loved going right home though. If you need to be away from the kids a couple of days why not stay with a friend? Heck maybe even really baby-moon and check yourself into a nice hotel?

The BC that I had DS at you could leave at 4 hours PP, or stay up to 24 hours.  It was hospital sponsored though.  We left at 6 hours PP and it was perfect.  I wouldn't have wanted to stay any longer.
