Maca while pregnant

I had a MC/ EP last year and I had low progesterone.  The EP could not be helped but I had a MC a few cycles before that before I could go to the dr, I suspect that this was due to low pg.   I have read that using Maca can help by regulating estrogen and increasing your prog.  Anyone have any ideas or knowledge on this?  I am waiting to test this month, but I am having multiple symptoms of pg.  YAY!  so I am hoping for a bfp later this week.  I wanted to go ahead and begin with taking Maca to help with the pg levels.  Is it safe while pg?  Thanks!!

I'm not sure about maca, but I would love to ask my midwife about it! I have problems with spotting in every pregnancy and I wonder if it's not due to a decrease in progesterone. I do know that my doula in my last pregnancy had me use black haw bark. I steeped it and then strained it and added honey for taste. It stopped my bleeding each time.

If you find out please share.  When I find out more, I will share too.  I figure that it must be safe in normal doses because Inca woman have taken it for hundreds of years to help with their pg and fertility.  I heard that the only reason they tell you not to take it while pg. is because it has not been tested in pg women yet for a scientific standard.  They don't count the inca women.  I got alot of my info on Natural Fertility Info .com  It has alot of good tips and stuff on it.  That is where I first heard about maca.  I do plan on asking my dr/mw when the time comes.  Good luck!
