Choice Mom

Hi there.. I am a single mom by choice. I used a donor and have a lovely little 6 month old girl. Wondering if there are any other Choice Mom's out there who would love to chat?  most of my daughters bio-siblings that I am in touch with are married , straight and gay. So I don't really have any other Choice Mom's to chat with.  IT is a challenge to explain...to others and eventually to my daughter.

I am putting together an Identity Book for her... and have some great kids books about special families and a donor story, but worry about the challenges to come.

Especially dating.. as I hope to not grow into an old maid all alone =)

Hey, sorry no one has answered yet because I do believe there are quite a few choice moms here. You are so not alone in making that choice, but I'm sure it would be good to have some friends who are in it too. I hope you also have a support network: being a new mom can be such an overwhelming experience no matter how you get there! But congrats on getting there!!

Your dd looks so cute!  I am not in your situation, but had a close friend who made the same decision you did about a decade ago.  She always said it was the most challenging but best decision she ever made!
