Im going BONKERS!! Need support.

Since the birth of my LO 7months ago I have been battling Thrush. Ive been on 2 rounds of Difulcan, GV, various antifungual creams, vinegar, sunning bras, clothes etc etc etc....Probiotics etc etc etc. Im going CRAZY! My nipples feel like they are going to fall off and since Im back to work pumping is terribly painful and then when I get home LO just wants to nurse and nurse and nurse. He has his bottom two teeth and the top two are working their way in now. So all night long he wants to suck on my sad tired nipples. Im freaking exhausted. If i leave the bed he cries and daddy does not know what to do. I seriously wanted to give him formula last night just to see if that would make him sleep longer and let my sad nipples get a break. Im at my witts end. Seriously.

I nursed my daughter for `16 months and planed on going as long as it takes for this guy but he bites, he squirms, he streches my nips every which way. Im Tired ladies. just plain tired.

Wow, having persistent nipple pain like that is so tough! No wonder you are exhausted! One thought is, are you sure it's thrush? Does your baby have thrush in his mouth? Sometimes persistent breast and nipple pain that doesn't respond to thrush treatment can actually be bacterial...you could go to an OB and they can do a test to see if it is really thrush. Other things that can seem like thrush are eczema, psoriasis and other kinds of allergic skin conditions. It sounds like you've done all the right stuff to treat thrush. It might be worth a visit to an IBCLC or a doctor to see if you can get to the bottom of this!!

Aww I feel ya! Did you try putting vinegar on your nipples and letting air dry after every feeding and then apply extra virgin olive oil? I noticed this gave me amazing results to help get rid of nipple pain and thrush from my nipples along with taking Kyolic Garlic Capsules and a clove of garlic a day and sometimes putting the juice of garlic on my nipples (gross.. I know.. but hey whatever works right?)

Also I found that Earth Mama Nipple Butter is AMAZING for helping heal nipples. I no longer dreaded breastfeeding just after a few applications.

Did you try Grapeseed Fruit Extract? I've heard great things about that. My midwife also recommended it

I used Palmers Nursing Butter, it was amazing. The Lasinoh (sp?) stung when I applied it. Eeek.
