Do You Get EWCM During AF?

Self-Explanatory.:)

AFM: I had a crazy cycle--uncertain O date and higher temps than usual last month.

Just started AF yesterday and this is what I have observed:

CD1 Med. Flow, creamy CF

CD2 Heavy Flow, EWCM

The other thing, is that I am having some secondary fertility signs already. For someone who hasn't O'd earlier than CD16 in my 5 PPAFs, this is different.

There is a chance that your "period" wasn't a true period and just breakthrough bleeding. A true period occurs after a couple weeks after ovulation. A true period is the start of a new cycle. Unless you charted, there's no way to tell whether or not you ovulated before this last "period". Therefore, you could be still technically in the fertile phase of a rather long cycle.

Thanks, dejagerw! Here's my chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/32af8f

FF went back and forth between CD 20 & CD 23 as O date.

You're missing temperatures, so I can't be completely sure... but it didn't look like you ovulated, so I would say your last "period" wasn't a true period, just breakthrough bleeding.

Also, looking at your other charts, your luteal phase appears to be too short to sustain a pregnancy. I would look for ways to increase your luteal phase.

Good luck!

It is not uncommon to experience fertile looking CF around the time of AF.  I do think you're ovulating, but I also think that your LP is quite short.  It's possible you didn't O until CD 23, giving you a 3 day LP.  I would recommend checking out the thread on lengthening your LP and I would re-iterate that it is important to get those pre-O temps.  You got more this cycle and that was very helpful, but I'd really suggest starting to temp earlier in your cycles- especially as soon as you get creamy or EW CF.

Thank you for both of your posts. I am temping through AF this month--not fun--but it's worth seeing a full month of temps!

I have been working with my ND for over 6 months on fertility and LP/egg health.

I'm taking a range of supplements, many that are discussed in this forum and have made changes in my diet and lifestyle to accomodate ttcing even further.

However, this is only my 6th PP cycle, and I am still BFing my 2.5yr old daily and dealing with hypothyroidism--all which can effect LP. So, I am trying to be patient with my body the the timing of things. :)

Yes, it took me over a year of PP cycle's to regulate again after I had my first child.  So you're absolutely right, you may just need some more time.  Plus, keep in mind that not all cycles are the same.  Some will be more fertile than others and while last cycle may have only had a 3 day LP, next cycle could be 10 days.  If you catch the right one....  dust.gif

sounds like your cycle just isn't regular yet. though i have always gotten ewcm with my period, even years before i got pregnant.

I get EWCM during AF, it sometimes even comes a little beforehand, letting me know AF is on the way.
