Lightweight rainboots?

Thread Starter

Hello.  I posted a few months back looking for soft-soled rainboots, which I've since given up on, since the only options out there just sort of look like rainboots but don't actually keep water out.  Anyway, I've modified my search to rainboots that don't weigh a ton.  I bought some of the froggie boots at Target since they were pretty cheap, but they are soooo heavy that DD can only stand there in them.  Plus, they're a size 5/6, and DD is really a 5, so they fall off immediately.  Any recommendations for something light?  I thought of the Crocs ones, but they only start at size 6.  Thanks!

Hmm, maybe I'll pay attention to this thread too.

A friend just gave me a pair of size 5/6 Jumping Beans brand rain boots, which are heavy, but DD hasn't tried them on yet.  She is only in a size 4, she's a little peanut (18 months, 20lbs, 29 inches).  I was assuming they would work because I had a pair of size 7 melissa and doug rainboots for my son when he was a size 5 - and he managed just fine.

Crocs makes boots that are nice and lightweight, but pricey. My Mum bought DS a pair when he was just learning how to walk, they were too large for him, but we just put him in fluffy socks and h didn't have a problem with the falling off. All the other brands I have looked at for this upcoming rainy season are pretty clunky and heavy.

Crocs is the best choice if you want something light, its true they cost alot but they dont wear off

Our 5/6's someone gave us didn't seem too heavy for DD, but her foot is still too tiny and slips right out.  I'm not going to pay for boots that may only be used one season for one child...so no rain stomping for her. :(
