Is there any demand for doulas and midwives in Portland?

I'm planning on moving to Portland next year. I'm a doula now, and plan on becoming a CPM in future. I'm wondering if there's going to be any work for me there. It seems like there are already a lot of doulas and midwives around there. Could someone who knows the area and the local birth scene give me some insight please?

Yes, it seems there's already a good many direct entry type midwives here. I always see so many business cards hanging up in the cool kid spots and adverts on the local websites for direct entry midwives and doulas. I personally prefer the CNM type and that's who I choose for my care. But yes, its a marvelous place to live and if you don't mind driving a bit... you might could serve one of the outlying communities who may have fewer midwives to choose from.
