Court went well!

I filed the end of May and finally had court yesterday.  It started out slightly confusing but in the end, my stbx has until October 1st to move out!  

We have been leaving in the same house for FOUR months with him refusing to leave.  It is such a relief to know the end is in sight. 

Of course today he is sending me message saying he has decided he wants to keep the house, can't find anywhere to rent, etc.  I keep telling myself "Two more weeks, two more weeks"

He is going to make the next 13 days rough as hell!

He left the football game 10 minutes early last night--long enough to run home and set up a rather elaborate "packing station" for the kids to come home and see.  Of course they were very upset.

I suggested waiting until after they went to bed but he said he didn't have time.  He packed from 8-8:45.       The kids go to bed at 9pm.

He also stopped by their school this morning to talk to their teachers.  Definitely a first!  I really hope he doesn't try and start stuff with their school.   

"October 1st" is my new mantra : )

Ugh. How yucky. So sorry he is doing this.... but so glad you are getting him OUT.  Hugs mama... Let the countdown begin.

And he continues the drama by telling our 9 year old that he doesn't want the divorce and he still loves mommy, etc.

And yes, he is trying to drive me insane.  For a bit, I was actually questioning myself but thankfully a few good friends straightened me out.  He sent me at least 20 messages yesterday and I woke up to three this morning.  (Yes, he sends me messages when while I am sleeping in the same house).

He plans to "temporarily" stay at my sister/brother-in-laws house.  (long story)      Which means he must be planning on leaving all his belongings here.

5 more days ....  and he is pulling every trick in the book.   

He moved his clothes and guitars out on Saturday but NOTHING else.  No furniture, no tools, none of the huge random pile of stuff in the garage that belongs to him.  (He is temporarily staying in a fully furnished house--which is a huge other mess.)  He stayed there Saturday and Sunday night.

He tried to keep the kids overnight last night.  Big mess.  He brought them home after I told him he was in contempt of court.

And then he walked in the house this morning at 645 to kiss the kids goodbye before going to work.  (They were sleeping.)

So now I am wondering if I am going to need a protective order next week.  He really doesn't need to show up whenever he feels like it.

What does the court order specify exactly in regards to him moving out?  I had to get my lawyer to threaten my ex with contempt of court and jail time in order to get him to do what he was supposed to.  You have to stand your ground and not let him guilt you or manipulate your emotions; otherwise, he will keep using those tactics forever!  I hope everything goes smoothly on October 1st!  After that, it's your house, and I personally would not let him just show up whenever he feels like it...

I had a similar concern about XH showing up. I just changed the locks and moved all his stuff to our detached garage.

He has until Oct 1st to move out so I'm going to let it slide this week.  He came over last night at 8pm and stayed and put our son to bed.  Of course, he fell asleep with him.  I have no idea when he left.

My ex still thinks he can just walk into my house,,, and it's been 4 years. Once I hit him with a big cooking spoon so he would leave.

Men like this.... they just want control and hate it when we take ourselves back and they can not rule over us anymore.

He starts moving the rest of his stuff out tomorrow--and just starting texting me asking me if I'm seeing someone again.  Haven't had this discussion in a month or so.  Thought he had moved on.  

My mom said she gets paid on Friday and she will gladly buy me some new locks.

Changing the locks will be not only good for the actual situation, but perhaps as it did for me it provided a sense of control.  AND I installed them myself, which made me feel of so self-sufficient!!!!
