Kombucha, Raw Milk & Sprouts During Pregnancy

I followed the mainstream advice on what I could and couldn't eat during pregnancy last time. That was before I learned about Weston Price and Nourishing Traditions etc. Now I'm pregnant and have the feeling that if these foods are good for me when I'm not pregnant--they're good for me pregnant. I guess I would like to hear the rationale on why consuming these foods is safe for my wee little babe.

Oh and maybe I should add that I grow my own sprouts and brew my own kombucha.

Thanks!

I'm not pregnant again (yet), but I'll be watching for responses! I drink raw milk now and would feel comfortable continuing--I trust my milk source a lot. I'm about to try making my own kombucha after I get a SCOBY tomorrow, but I'm not sure if I would continue that during pregnancy. I'd probably feel safer with one someone else made, LOL!

I drink raw milk and eat raw milk cheese(all organic), I'm 33wks pregnant.  First, just as human milk goes, if the animal is sick, the virus/bacteria does not transfer through the milk.  It is usually the milking conditions that contaminates the milk.  If the milkers hands are full of feces and some gets into the milk, then it contaminates it.  As long as you are confidant in your source that they are clean and keep the animals in humane conditions, then I would not worry about it at all.

As far as sprouts, I believe that is again a matter of conditions it is grown and picked in.
