How is everyone doing this week?
What do you mamas do with a crying baby in the carseat? Fosston sometimes just freaks out and I hate it so much. It breaks my heart to hear him and I all I can think of is that he thinks I'm just leaving him there to cry it out. If someone else is in the car I or the other person will sit back there with him to try and soothe him but when it's just me I can't do anything! I hate it!
We're taking a road trip from Dallas to Kansas City, Mo., on Monday and I plan to sit in the back with Cooper during most of the 10-hour drive. Instead of worrying with nursing him during most of the trip, I'm taking a small cooler of EBM and a portable bottle warmer. I also have a hand pump. Of couse, we'll be stopping as much as we need to along the way so I can go to the bathroom/stretch my legs/nurse.
At this point I kind of feel like it would be easier for us to fly, but since it's less expensive and I can sleep while my husband drives, it makes a little more sense for us.
On shorter trips with just me, I have to time everything exactly. I only leave the house with Coop once he's gone down after eating. It takes a lot of planning, but it's worth it to not have a screaming baby in the back seat.
