Hey all. I finally maganed to have my computer NOT lock up on me long enough to join this group....for some reason MDC pisses my computer off. I HAVE been reading whenever I could.
Maddox is 10.5 weeks and has an appt. tomorrow so I will know how big he is. My babies tend to be on the smaller side though, so I'm expecting 10.5-11.5 lbs, based on the other 2 kids. He is a better sleeper than the other 2 (not that it's hard to be better than their crappy sleep!) but when awake is extremely demanding and often very fussy. He also doesn't seem to like to be worn, which is not really going to be an option if he wants to be held all the time, what with the other 2 kids needing me sometimes too. He did lay on the playmat for a few minutes a couple times today, which is progress. He is a huge car screamer-gets absolutely hysterical- and since I have to take the other kids places we don't have the option to just stay home. We've tried giving him a pacifier a few times, as he also had the wants-to-suck-but-doesn't-want-milk- problem. But he does not like it. He also is NOT taking a bottle very well. My DD was like this, never took a bottle, which made going back to work extremely stressful. But we didn't introduce it until 6 weeks, so I figured maybe it was too late. So this time I started at 2 weeks-just 1 oz every couple days. The 1st few times it went OK, but since then he is like "hell NO!". This is super bad as I start back to work Monday. Plus it means I can't be away at all for more than about 2 hours, which just about killed me last time. I went somewhere yesterday and was gone for about 5 hours (thought he'd take it with me out of the house) and DH only managed to get 1/2 oz into him. And never called me so I was happily assuming he had decided to take the bottle. Wrong!! AND I have an agility trial scheduled next Saturday that I have already paid for. Unless M changes his mind about the bottle, DH will have to haul all 3 kids up to it at least once, and maybe stay a while-not what he was planning.
For babywearing, I have a MT with an adjustable bottom so M has been legs out since...2 weeks? My kids hate to froggy. But we have mostly been wrapping this time around so far (ME!- the comfirmed buckle girl, LOL) I got him up on my back for the 1st time in a wrap today, but he was pissed and he's a leg straightener, so it didn't last long. AND he managed to throw up in my hair. Hurray.
OK, I'm forgetting a lot of stuff, but Lisa I hope things go better for you-what a rough time! Guatemama, yay for visiting family! And I am right there with people having a hard time doing stuff....I am a very type A/get stuff done kind of person and not being able to is killing me. But I have never had a laid back baby, they are all high needs, so you'd think I would have adjusted by now, right?? Nope! And now I have to go.......
