I'm gonna lose this weight, or else!

I thought I'd start a weight loss support thread. I'm one of those unlucky mamas that doesn't seem to lose weight from nursing alone. I have to fight for every pound lost. So if anyone else out there is having the same struggle as me, let's work together to shed this baby fluff!

My pre-preg weight was 138. My goal weight is 125. I was 191 at the end of pregnancy and stopped losing at 3wks pp when I was 172.

I just joined weight watchers (again...I'm actually a lifetime member from several years ago) and after one full week on the plan, I lost 3.8lbs putting me at 168. I only wanted to lose about a pound a week, but if I can lose at this rate and keep my milk production up, I'll be thrilled!

I'll join. I always have to fight for every single ounce as well, so frustrating. Once I get to my regular weight, maintaining is not a problem, my body just does that naturally but it is getting there that is the problem. I'm short, my regular weight is 110, I'm sitting at 134 right now. I was so excited this week because the scale had said I was down 5, but it had to have been an off day because it's been the same every other day this week. I've been this weight since 2wks pp and he is almost 8 weeks now. irked.gif

The only thing that ever really helps is to exercise a good 30+ minutes every day, either running or on my elliptical, this babe doesn't ever get off of me so that isn't going to happen anytime soon. My diet has been good for the last several weeks and nothing. I'm one of those that lose nothing, drop 3 lbs, then nothing, nothing, another 7 weeks go by, another 2-3 lbs, it comes off SOO slowlyI had just got to my regular weight the very month I got pg again, DS1 was 18 months old. I really don't want to do that again, the first two times I lost it in 9 months but I also didn't gain that much either.

I'll join. I was up to 158 the week before I gave birth. For the past several days I've been between 135-137. My ideal weight is 117-120. I'd be happy losing about 15 pounds. I'm only about 2 1/2 weeks postpartum, so I'm planning to ease into exercising. DS was posterior and I've been feeling a good amount of tailbone pain, even when just walking. My goal is to fit back into my clothes. I have so little that I can wear right now. I'm trying to be patient, but it's hard.

Count me in.  My prepreg weight is about 120.  I don't have a scale right now, but was 155 when DD was born, and now I'm probably around 130 or so.  I'd like to get to at least 120 if not 115, but mostly I just want to get rid of my muffin top.  If I can have a flat-ish tummy and fit back into size 2 or 4, I'll be happy.

My workout plan is to walk in the park (it is a 3/4 mile loop--and I'll go around at least twice) every day with DD after dropping DS off at school, plus situps and crunches.  Yoga when I have a second.

For anyone that loves yoga, but no time or money for it, has anyone seen the site www.myyogaonline.com ? for $9 a month, you can download all kinds of different classes and do them anytime you want.  My friend shined me on to it, and I'm totally joining!

Happy weight loss everyone!

I'm in too. My pre-pregnancy weight was 203 lbs, which is still 30 lbs over my target weight; however, it took me 18 mos after the birth of DS1 to lose at least some of the weight I'd gained with him.

This time around I was more careful about weight gain and more conscientious about exercise and I ended up around 240lbs by the time DS2 was born. Now 2 1/2 weeks pp I'm down to 222 lbs. Still, 20 lbs to go to be at least back to pre-pg and then I'd really like to lose the other 30 lbs as well.

Not to be all snobby about it, but I'm currently only 5 lbs over my prepreg weight. (150 as of this morning) but my belly is sooooo flabby. I wasn't in the best shape before getting pregnant, and I'd love to be healthier, for me and for Liam. Not sure how much exercising I'll be getting done, but I might be able to use my MIL's elliptical occasionally or do some abs stuff at home. Working on getting the house and the babe in order before I start any kind of exercise routine, though.

ETA: Goal weight would be around 125 - 130, but with the hips I got from giving birth, I'm not sure if that's reasonable or not.

Yay! While I'm not happy about us needing to lose weight, I'm thrilled that I'm not alone! So I figure I'll post my progress weekly and then we can chat about what's working and what's not. We can do this together! smile.gif

So far, I'm just trying to get portion sizing under control and make smart snacking choices. I know that my key to losing pounds is controlling my diet. When I can exercise regularly, that is how I can work on body shape. I hope my plan to run 2-4 times per week is going to be realistic. I'm starting tomorrow!

I passed on cookies, ice cream, and reeces peanut butter cups at the grocery today.  yay for step one:  self control!!

I so need to be here!!  I keep cramming junk into my face, I NEED to be held more accountable.  Exercise is one thing but if I can't get this eating under control what's the point?

Count me in, girls!

Right now I'm at 167 lbs.  Pre preg I was 140.  I'd like to get back there, or at least back to my size 4/6 jeans!!!

We're pretty close then ... Cate will be 8 weeks this coming Thursday. My regular weight is 107lb - 110lb, and I'm short-ish. I lost 22lb right away, and have been stuck at 129-133 since DD was 10 days old or so

The good thing is that the weight is moving around, so my clothes are fitting better, but only some of them. I want my wardrobe back!

Running starts Tuesday night (need DH to be home to watch DD, but for  an 'extra' workout, I'll take DS ... pushing 40lbs should speed up my weight loss!)

uh, i m on the same boat..I was 107-111 prepregnancy (at 111 right before) -  went down from 150 (last 5 pounds in the last week of pregnancy - yikes my poor body) to 131-132 the first week and a half and has been there since...this tuesday will be 6 weeks. Have been on couple of long walks (30mins is a long walk for me :-)) and such, there is no change. I would have thought after sitting for this long any movement would make miracles happen - dream much?

soo, i need to get some system down, I dont care if it takes me 6 months to loose it, as long as there is some loss weekly- i will be happy. And when i get back to work in 2 weeks that will be really hard to find any time for walks or eating healthy-ish.

I am inspired by you guys, not sure i can keep up with you though.

I need to buy some healthier foods.  I've been snacking a lot on peanut butter, granola bars, and making high fat quick foods like nuggets and fries.  What do you guys make/eat for snacks and lunch that are filling and tasty??

Woo hoo, Erica!  We are in it to win it!!

Oh how I love you guys! The girls' in another ddc only brag about how they are back to prepreg weight. Choice words ensued.

I'm at 163 right now, and my prepreg weight was 143. I was up to 180 at birth. So I have 20 to go, which is typical for me. We plan on walking every evening starting tonight because I've been waiting till 4 weeks postpartum to start the grind. ALthough I have to wait a few more weeks for heavy stuff because of my prolapse.

What sucks bigtime though is how much childbirth has changed my shape! I can get down to a bmi of 21 or less and I still wear size 10 jeans because of these damned birthing hips lol!

My eating has been ok, I love to eat sweets before bed so I need to just stop buying stuff to make them. But the rest of the day I actually eat really good. I'm one of those "lucky" ones that does NOT lose weight while breastfeeding, even if my calories are less than recommended. But I could save the entire community of small children around here if we had a famine. lol.gif

Count me in!  I was around 130 pre-pregnancy, and in pretty good shape.  I gained 50lbs during the pregnancy, but had lost 25 of them by my 4 week pp midwife visit.  I don't own a scale so I don't know for sure if I've lost more, but I feel like I have.  The main thing that bothers me is lack of clothing that fits/looks good.  My thighs and midsection are just not at all the same.  And then my boobs are so much bigger that I can't wear my old tops, either.  I used to wear a size 6, and I just recently had to get the size 10 bridesmaid dress for my sister's wedding taken out in the bust.

There is a gym near us that does child care once the baby is over 6 weeks old.  Has anyone ever done this?  I wouldn't be joining till after our trip up north for my sister's wedding, so he'd be over 8 weeks old.  But I haven't left him with anyone yet other than his dad for like, an hour...not sure how I feel about it.  It would be nice to take a spinning or yoga class, though.

I feel you on this. I had hips before I got pregnant/gave birth... And now I'm probably not going to be able to fit into half of my prepreg pants because of said hips. I was a 7 or a 9 before pregnancy, and I can fit into a couple of the really stretchy/worn in pairs of pants I had... And the size 11 I have.  There are so many body changes we've gone through aside from the weight loss I never thought it would make this big of a difference. But now I'm just wider down there and I'll have to suck it up. If only I got an ass to go with the hips, then DH would be happy. lol

I found after DS was born, that it took me exactly 9mths, to the day, to fit back into all my regular jeans. It was like my hips just slowly moved back to where they had been. I know some people do find that they never go back, but give it time before you purge your closet or anything like that! I got
rid of a pair of jeans that I had loved b/c I thought I'd never wear them again, and I'm now sure they would have fit quite nicely when DS was a year old, up until I was pregnant again!

This time, it's my feet. NONE of my shoes fit properly, it's not that they are too small really, just that I am getting blisters every time I wear them. I'm completely sick of flipflops, and it's getting too cold for them anyway.

I'm in!

Prepregnancy I was somewhere btwn 125-130. I was about 164 when Magnolia was born. I dropped down to 144 by 2 wks and have been floating btwn 140-145 ever since. I don't think any more is coming off without work, esp since I won't be burning any extra calories by breastfeeding. My first goal to hit is 125, but Ideally I'd like to try to get down around 110. I'm a shorty so 125 is the max healthy weight for my body type and I really would love to get down into a more healthy range. I really want to focus on getting toned too.

I'm going to struggle on both working out and eating well. I'm going to try and find some "fun" workouts b/c I absolutely HATE working out. Once it cools down I plan on taking the baby on some long stroller walks- DH and I walked to Target a couple nights ago once the sun went down and it was a pretty good walk. I figure I could walk there at least a couple times a week with the baby- good exercise and I would be able to be out in public and see other adults.

The eating is going to be exceptionally challenging with DH leaving. Right now we're kind of eating whatever we want to w/o working about the healthiness of it since he's leaving in 2 wks. After that its going to be a struggle for me to eat at all. When I don't have anyone else to cook for, I don't really like to bother, so either I don't eat anything, or I'll just constantly snack all day long on whatever I can find- which is usually unhealthy.

I was dropping weight fairly quickly but then last week I gained 4lbs irked.gif.  I still have about 8 lbs to go to get down to my pre-pregnancy weight of 140.  Ideally I'd like to be back to 130 (my original starting point before my accident hence the "extra" 10 lbs.)

My belly is super squishy and definitely have a muffin top going on and my thighs oh my thighs.  I can't fit into any of my pre-pregnancy jeans.  Some stuff fits but not much.  I'm mostly stuck wearing long skirts--which I don't mind or shorts of some sort.  My maternity stuff is starting to bug me but I don't have many options and I refuse to buy new clothes.  Thanks to my big boobs--all my T-shirts are super tight and have that extra cling factor which I'm not happy about because it shows every roll.  I'm trying to go with it.  I did take 9 months to put on 35lbs so if I take a few to take if off...so be it

I'll play. I was at 145 pounds pre-pregnancy. I got up to 189 before birthing the little one, dropped some weight, then it stopped. eyesroll.gif

Last week I stepped on the scale at 170 lbs, but this horrible chest congestion / sinus crap that I have endured for the past few days has brought me down to 165 lbs. Not a healthy way to drop weight, but I'll take it. redface.gif

I'm supposed to be starting back to work tomorrow, but am still coughing and weak. greensad.gif
I am getting back into my Paleo eating habits (no grains, no dairy) little by little. That should help, but I don't want to compromise my milk supply. It'll be a delicate balance.
