weekly rambling chat Sept 18--24 - Page 3

Name: Katroshka

Weeks/Days along: 4 weeks from FDLMP

Appointments: none yet

Symptoms: On friday I had little painful tinges in my uterus, it was the first thing that made me think I was preggo. Also falling asleep early.

Food: Normal so far. Expecting to start feeling aversions in the next week or so, if it's like previous pregnancies.

Exercise: walking, carrying/ playing with 6 month old dd

Body changes and other milestones: nothing yet.

Thoughts: I just got BFP today, can't wait to tell DH tonight after the big girls go to bed!

Name: Sarah

Weeks/Days along: 8 weeks on Thursday

Appointments: Just started looking for a midwife.  I have moved since my last baby, and I guess I need to decide were I'll be going (or who will be coming here) for the birth of this baby ;)

Symptoms:  Nausea - I feel like I have to be constantly eating to keep it away and nothing really sounds appetizing. Also, still very tired.

Food:  Whatever I can stomach at the moment.  Salty is good, DH stopped at a gas station to get me one of those huge dill pickles they sell :) He bought two and they were gone by the next morning.

Body changes and other milestones:   Wearing yoga pants whenever I can get away with it, pants are tight.

Thoughts:  I am really ready to be done with the nausea, haven't puked yet but almost constant sick, gagging  feeling,.  I don't think it was this bad with my others.  One of the drawbacks to living in the country - I am too far away for those late night fast food fixes I used to enjoy ;)  Feel a little overwhelmed right now just keeping the home running, like I can start to think about baby things, etc. maybe in a few weeks when things even out (hopefully).

Name: Jen

Weeks/Days along: 5 weeks or so.  We finished moving 8/5, then I was out of town until 8/9, and I don't think I started right after that.  So I'm guessing I started 8/15, which makes me 5 weeks today!

Appointments: nope, not for a while yet I think

Symptoms: none at all.  I actually took another test today, just to make sure, lol

Food: normal routine, working on more fruits and veggies, less processed food.  It's easy right now with ZERO nausea.

Exercise: some walking, going to try to step it up and get into a routine this week!

Body changes and other milestones: a bit bloated, but nothing remarkable...!

Thoughts: I'm just planning, planning, planning.  Saving vacation time at work, thinking about a mini-van maybe, wondering about re-arranging bedrooms, looking into a double stroller (although we aren't big stroller folks, we baby wear or she walks.  but maybe a nice stroller is a bigger deal with 2 littles?)  I'm also contemplating due dates- this baby is due 5/22, and our youngest was born 5/20.  So they'll be almost exactly 2 years apart.  I think I'm likely to have a repeat section, so we can choose the date a bit.  So before her birthday or after????  Lol.

Appointments: Next monday!

Symptoms: EXHAUSTED! Sore boobies, queasiness as the day goes on

Food: Please pass the hot sauce or anything spicy!

Body changes and other milestones: My boobs are growing!

Thoughts: Am I really pregnant?! How the hell am I going to tell my parents?!

BubbleMa - we have the same food thing!!  Everything here sounds and looks gross.. but I could go out to eat for every meal easily!!    I thought I was just crazy..

Katroshka - wow you have a 6 month old!  You aren't taking a break at all!

Meredith: we almost have the same schedule! I think I ovulated on August 17 and my past two cycles had been 39 days and 32 days respectively. Prior to that I had been suppressing my cycle, so those are the only two cycles I have to go on. Thankfully, I'm having a dating ultrasound on Friday. I'm really hoping for a healthy strong heartbeat!! Based on my LMP I'd be 8 weeks 1 day. I'm thinking it's more like 7 weeks.

Congratulations on your happy news! heartbeat.gif

Haha!  I thought I was crazy!  Good to know I'm not the only one.  I wonder what it is...it's not that I don't want to cook because even when SO cooks I can't eat it.  It's just weird!

Yeah, that's me. Anything I make or DH makes looks/sounds revolting, but anything from a restaurant or otherwise premade sounds divine!

smilingsara: When I was pregnant with #2 I couldn't eat anything that wasn't spicy, and since she was a toddler she's LOVED spicy foods. She used to pick up salsa bowls and drink it at restaurants when she was 1 to 2. So maybe you are going to have a spicy food lover too!

janellody: No, not much of a break here. They will be almost 15 months apart, which is the same gap between my older two. I love having them so close, they are best friends and do everything together, I feel like it's been really great for them, so I wanted my tiny one to have the same experience. Plus I am a student and really want to get finished up and working in a few years, so didn't want to have any more years of toddlers needing me home than I had to have. I actually was kind of hoping to have a couple more months between them, but didn't want them more than 18 months apart and figured I shouldn't give myself too few chances to get pregnant. As it turned out, I got pregnant the first month we tried, so here we are!

Sorry to hear about all the nausea, I'm really dreading getting it in a couple of weeks!

bubblema: for some reason food out of the house is what i want and i'm not a big restaurant person. DH is even a chef so i can get whatever i want. all day yesterday everything seemed so unappetizing and just had been light snacking on fruit and trail mix because everything i looked at i thought was going to make me puke. my brother comes over and wants to eat out, i go with him and realize i want food, i just eat and eat.shrug.gif i don't think my brother ever seen me eat like that.

Had my first doctor's appointment yesterday. Prenatal testing is complete- blood and urine. When my results come in, my GP forwards the info to the ob/gyn. Where I live, you don't get an ultrasound until 20 weeks, unless something is wrong of course. What has everyone else's experience been like? I am 5weeks5 days, and likely won't see the obgyn till at least 12 weeks from what I understand from others in my area....

Wooooooo welcome Corgi!

maggiemay - so far I've only seen my GP, for a well-visit that was scheduled long before I got pregnant. My doctor offered to do bloodwork if I wanted, but since I'm seeing my OB next week I didn't see any real reason to.

My first OB / midwife / ultrasound appointment is Monday. I swear this has been the slowest few weeks ever. Even my in-laws think it's taking forever!

My first appointment is tomorrow morning!! I am super excited!!

So, U/S went good! saw bean and bean's heart fluttering <3 Was told nothing looks abnormal with the pregnancy. i am measuring 6 weeks 1 day. I am still having spotting once a day, but am taking progesterone which is helping. My progesterone levels went from 8.3 last Monday to 26.1 yesterday! I have my first appt with my OB (who will act as backup for my midwife) to establish care. I am so freaking relieved. I know I am not totally out of the clear yet, but things are looking more hopeful then before!

Hey Maggie. We had a whole bunch of stuff in the beginning of ds's pregnancy that caused us to go in early, but that was quite unusual for our area. When I had first called about scheduling an appointment, I was told no one was seen before 10 weeks, and no ultrasounds unless there was cause for concern until 20 weeks. So, I'm always surprised to hear how many other women do get in so early...

In any case, if there's nothing making you think something needs checking, I wouldn't worry. You'll still see that little bean soon enough!!
