Snack ideas? - Page 2

Cameragirl, I'm having the same issues! I think I probably need to track what I'm eating because I must be eating more calories than I realize.

 

I also got a lot of grief last time but none this time (yet).

Someone mentioned deviled eggs- I made a bunch of them over the weekend and ate them all by myself! haha They were delicious! I'm also a bagel with cream cheese and raspberry jam fan. Cottage cheese, raw carrots and broccoli with some ranch. Ritz crackers with pb or cheese. Sliced apples with pb. Strawberry/banana smoothies with protein powder. A milkshake. Tuna on crackers. I also eat a bowl of cereal every night before I go to bed.

I should also mention I'm eating for twins, so my appetite has gone through the roof!! I feel like I'm constantly eating.

The strange thing is that I gain it FAST. I gained that weight within two weeks, and there is no way I'm eating that much extra. In fact, I'm eating pretty normally now aside from an extra small meal. That isn't enough for almost a pound a day. For some reason I did that with my daughter, too.

I need to find a new filling food today...I'm getting tired of potato soup. I made veggie chili, but I can't touch that for fear of heartburn.

I sent DH to the store to get stuff to make pumpkin pie. You can make it without crust or as much sugar, and it actually is pretty nutritious. I've been known to eat that for breakfast with DD. smile.gif I'm thinking maybe some whole-wheat pumpkin muffins if I get the chance, too. Luckily, the hunger has been in check the last couple days.

Today I have been craving salt. Bad. To be fair, I'm getting my infusions, and have to drink a LOT of water. I can't keep down flat water or most electrolyte drinks right now, so I've been having mineral water. I also can't get saline during my infusions, because it is incompatible with the meds. So, I get dextrose in water. By dinner today, I was totally craving salt. I had some garlic bread, and still wanted salt. DH switched me from water to my pregnancy tea, and got me some fries. I'm guessing my electrolytes were probably a bit off if I was craving salt, which I really never crave like that.

I think I need to have him stop by the health food store to find some healthier salty options for the next couple of days. The tea will help with potassium, and I don't really like eating table salt. We eat Real Salt at home most of the time. Otherwise, though, the hunger has been much better recently. It is easier to pick healthy snacks when you don't feel positively starving all of the time.
