Baby-led solids for the formula fed baby?

Is anyone doing baby-led solids for their formula fed baby?  Would anything be different than with a BF baby?  I planned all along to BF till at least 1 year and do baby-led weaning but since the BF part didn't work out I'm wondering if we need to change our plan for starting solids.  Any thoughts?

Honestly, I'd think baby-led solids would be even more important for a bottle-fed baby because it helps them learn about eating when they're hungry and only to satiety - something breastfed babies learn by breastfeeding.
Have you read Gill Rapley's book "Baby Led Weaning?" Here's her suggestions for the FF baby:

The only difference I would think would be that after 1 year, if your baby is still not eating a lot of solids (which is fairly typical of a BLW baby), I would keep them on formula, not cow's milk. When a BF baby does BLW, they're getting tons of good nutrition after 1 year from their mom's so it doesn't really matter if they eat a lot. But a lot of mom's stop formula at 1 year since baby's allowed to have cow's milk then. However, if a BLW baby is still not eating a ton, I wouldn't think the majority of their diet should be cow's milk.

Thanks for the help ladies, that link was great too.  And good point on formula-after-one - that is something I had not considered!
