Sorry, this might get a little long.
Â
I've had right upper quadrant pain for 6 weeks now, with classic gallbladder symptoms. I've had an ultrasound and a HIDA scan, both negative for stones, and my gallbladder ejection fraction was 87%. The Dr. sent me on to a gastroenterologist. I had an MRI on Friday, and got the results today. The nurse said I have fluid in the right upper quadrant of my abdomen and that they need to do an EGD (upper scope..tube down the throat) to see what is going on in there.
Â
All my bloodwork has been normal and I have now had it done 4 times in 6 weeks, because the Dr's kept ordering it done every time I had a test, plus the first time, when I went to the ER for the pain and they just did bloodwork and sent me home.
Â
All I can find online is that it is a symptom of a more serious disease..various cancers..serious liver disease, possibly lupus..but I would think bloodwork would show some trouble if I had cancer or cirrhosis, etc.

If anyone has an idea what this could be related to, or has gone through it, please let me know. I am very worried and the gastro's office staff is less than helpful. They couldn't get me in for the scope for another 10 days. So I have too much time to think about it too. Just looking for other's experiences. TIA.
