What has your toddler eaten today? - Page 2

Wow I can't even keep track of what my DS eats anymore. He just goes into the kitchen & helps himself & it seems like he is ALWAYS eating lol!! I remember just a year ago I was writing the same kind of post as the OP -- because DS really didn't eat for the longest time. Now he's 2.5 and only "allowed" to nurse once or twice a day and he eats a ton!

I know he had a few blueberry pancakes for breakfast... then the snacking began, he's eaten a bunch of kale, a banana, bit of chocolate, some cabbage/beet/carrot/quinoa salad, tortilla chips & hummus, a tomato from the garden, some walnuts... I don't know what else, and we haven't even had dinner yet! I'm terrified of how much we'll spend on groceries when he's a teenager if he's already eating so much...

This thread made made me feel so relieved. I mean, I knew my still-nursing toddler (23months) was doing fine, he's healthy, happy, developing well, but the amount of food he eats compared to his (non-nursed) playmates at daycare is so tiny.

Today was an ok eating day and he ate

Breakfast

3 stripes of cabbage

1 egg

1/8 toast

2 bites lemon muffin

1/2cup orange juice

1/4 cup of water

Lunch

1.5 cups orange juice for lunch

1/4 blueberry bagel

2 raisins

Dinner

he licked 10 frozen cranberries

1/8cup of kefir

1 bite bagel

kissed a cherry

Did I mention, that he just does not eat vegetables, we offer, we try to persuade him to touch them, maybe even try them, he is involved in the food making, both my dh and I eat mostly tons of veggies, so he has good examples. This is now going on for 12 months. The cabbage was a big surprise, so maybe we are slowly moving out of this phase. Tomatoes are sometimes ok if finely purred and thinly spread on pasta. hiding veggies in tomato sauce - he'll figure it out. Smoothies with vegetables hidden there, no sir. Pumpkin muffins - nope. Not even french fries...
