Yep, we came up with a new name - Dexter Daniel - about 48 hours after finding out the gender.

yup.  Caoimhin Buck.  Dh won.  i wanted to spell it Kevin.  you know, so the kid can learn to spell it someday.  but he let me name dd after my grandma.  hilda.  so....

What's the origin of Caoimhin? And, it is pronounced the same as "Kevin?" I think it's really cool, but I definitely understand the spelling thing.

yes it's pronounced kevin.  it's the irish spelling.

I WISH we came up with a final name, but not yet. We are having a BOY. My husband is pushing for Hudson, but I'm just not sure about that one. It just makes me think of the river or the car. He also likes (and I really like and could live with) Benjamin. I'm trying fervently to find a couple more names to try out and see if he'll go for one. I'd just hate to be stuck with a name that he and all of our friends and family LOVE and are what feels like pressuring me into going with. I mean, Hudson is ok, I don't HATE it or anything, but it's not my first pick that's for sure.

I'm the type that likes to pick something (or make a plan) and STICK with it. Move on. I THOUGHT we were going with Benjamin, but....now he's all obsessed with Hudson.

I guess time will tell what we end up with. If we decide I will reply back in this thread post and let y'all know.

My ds2 is named Cavan. It is also Irish, meaning "Handsome one". On the Ireland story map we had, there's a Captain Cavan, which ds thinks is real cool! Just thought I'd offer. It's almost like Kevin/ Caoimhin, different, and easy to spell too. Congrats on your boy!

i like that too.  i have no idea why dh has latched on to the other spelling, though i like the way it looks-- i just think it's way too hard to spell.

I'm so typical! We pick names when we POAS, then at 20 weeks I change my mind. We're still good on the girl name. We were going to go with S names (hints the baby S) now I'm toying with different boy names. Like Eryx or Embry.
