Have you squeezed your boob lately?

Out of curiosity I squeezed my boob this morning, and lo and behold a droplet of clear liquid came out (12w1d)! Whoa that was weird.

My gut tells me I shouldn't play with this new found production capacity, just leave 'em be. But speaking as a woman who's never been pregnant before much less nursed, this is NEATO. I wanna do it again. haha.

Anyone else?

I totally tried it after reading this. lol.gif Nothing.

I got nothing, too! I'm at 11 weeks.. I'll try again next week and let you know! THAT IS NEATO! ROTFLMAO.gif

Haha.  I've tried ;)  Too painful right now, they're still tender.

I still have teensy amounts of milk. I got colostrum by 25 weeks with my 1st (successful) pregnancy and was outright LEAKING by 30 weeks. That was fun!

I still have milk, but then again I'm still nursing. I started leaking at 15 weeks with my first pregnancy, though!

I'd be perfectly happy to have no leaking issues for a long while. I do have a friend's breast pads just in case, but for now it's only when I squeeze. I read somewhere that you should keep expressing early on; I have no idea whether that is true but it has kept me from fiddling with my boobs all day.

I have to admit, I'm utterly fascinated by all the things going on with my body. Baby production is just incredible. It is so ridiculously common, fundamental, etc. But for mammals it's like nature's  symphony of chemistry and biology. From the simple little concept of gene replication to the complexity of growing a baby is incomprehensible. I'm constantly in awe.

I had a 3 month break from nursing before I got pregnant this time but I still had the "clear" liquid the whole time. So I've never been without something there!

I love it here! People I know IRL think it is gross when their boobs leak, and here we are excited about it! My daughter weaned about a year ago, and since then I could always express something. Pregnancy has not made much of a change there. With my first, I didn't really get anything til the very end of pregnancy. I didn't leak til after the baby was born.

Me too!!  I'm only 9ish weeks.  Maybe I should start looking into some breast pads in case I start leaking here.....

Awe, why would anyone think it's gross when their boobs leak? It's their body gearing up to nourish their baby!!! It's hard for me to understand that mindset.

It can get pretty gross when your shirt is wet & cold...

On the other hand, our body's ability to produce milk & raise a baby *is* amazing! This may be my fifth baby, but I am amazed each time :)

I, too, am so happy to see others here who are excited about their milk-making abilities! :)

Ugh, yeah.  My DD weaned a year ago too, and I've basically had crusty colostrum-type stuff ever since.  Now there's more than ever.  I'm not squeezing because nipple stimulation is supposed to be one of those contrax-inducing things, and I've had that bleed... Not that I really think it would hurt.

Breast pads are on my list of things to make, so maybe I should get started....

Just tried again! Nothing.

However, does anyone check their nipples out in the shower? The warm water creates a translucency on the tip of the nipple, to where I can see little white dots under the skin.. Is that normal?? haha..

Are the little dots your ducts?
