Nicmom- I am so sorry about your loss.  Such a sweet passing but also very sad. Many hugs to you.

I had my mw appt yesterday and we heard the heartbeat!  Right in the 150s just like DS and very squirmy just like DS!  I can now say I officially felt the baby move at 9wks 6days.  I wanted to be sure and the movements just keep getting more and more pronounced and regular in the same spot.  Also, it was close to where the mw found the heartbeat which was some nice confirmation.  My next appointment isnt until november 10ish which feels like a long time but with fly by. Yesterday I felt really good and today I feel awful. I don't know if I am extra tired or what but I need the weekend so DH can be home!  I will add my two cents on food some other time when it doesn't make me want to hurl.  I have lost some wt but it seems to have plateaued in the past two weeks so I am not worrying about it anymore. Just keeping on eating when I can!  Sorry to be short but I am feeling blah.

All - thanks for your well wishes.  It gets easier every day.

For those with meat aversions try to force a bite down (make sure to have someone else cook it).  I can't stand the thought of meat but once a get a bite, I end up devouring the whole thing.

My all time favorite way to cook chicken livers is to douse them in a little bit of Tapatio and Soy Sauce.  While they are marinating I fry up bits of bacon, onion and garlic.  Once the bacon is cooked I dump in the livers with sauce and cook until the desired doneness.  I like mine a little raw in the middle for more B vitamins.  Oh so good!

I have found the BEST toothpaste.  I have been using tooth powder because most toothpastes make me puke lately.  I tried a new tube of Desert Essence Natural Tea Tree Oil and Neem Toothpaste Wintergreen.  It is amazing.  Fluoride and SLS free.  Most toothpastes are too sweet but this one is incredibly minty, which calms the gag reflex, but not sweet at all.  Also, normally even when not pregnant Wintergreen makes me sick, but this is great.  I think what makes Wintergreen so unappealing is the sweetness.  Without the sweetness it tastes just like "mint".  Love it, love it.  I still can't brush my tongue but at least I can swish a little toothpaste foam over it!

momma2b_k - So sorry for your loss. It seems particularly difficult to sort through the feelings of familial loss when pregnant. I hope that you are doing well and that your family is feeling peaceful as you go through this together.

Also for your loss, NicMom, pets become such a part of our lives, especially those that are with us for a long time.

Reading bologna sandwiches and canned pears has inspired a trip to the grocery store this afternoon. Hoping to find some nitrate free bologna at the market. I have been thinking a lot about liverwurst this week after looking at the Brewer diet for pregnancy. Right now (10 weeks) it seems really difficult to think about eating some of the foods. Most greens are completely unpalatable for me right now. Sometimes romaine lettuce is okay. I have been eating tons of Honeycrisp apples and am tempted to buy a bushel but am a little afraid that once that many apples show up at the house I will quickly get over the need. I made an amazing stew with some grassfed beef this week and just finished up the rest for lunch. I am wondering if my family would mind if I just made it again this week?

Other than still being super tired, I am feeling pretty great. I also finally was able to poop normally! Twice! Yay for pooping!

zuzusplace, just a thought for  you...is there a resale shop where you could supplement your tops inexpensively?  Or try craigslist? I just met a lady who sold me an entire maternity wardrobe (by that i mean big black garbage bag full) of gently used maternity clothes for $60... just a thought.  Keep your eyes open, I've noticed that when mom decides this is her last, the first thing to go is the maternity clothes! (literally, this lady was scheduled for a c section the next day...)

and ummm, food crazies, thats a big fat yes.  An hour ago, I was vomitting, now, I want coconut shrimp from outback... explinations please?!?!?!?!

Chiromama, I'm actually holding out right now hoping that some of my friends maternity tops will fit.16 She is due in a week and has said this is her last.16 She's significantly smaller in the chest, but I can occassionally fit in a M since the maternity makes a bit of extra room for chest anyway.16 It's going to be great because as her baby outgrows each thing she's giving it to us, so I'm hoping we won't need to buy much over the next year :D

The explanation is the that tasty, tasty marmalade sauce they come with!  I worked at Outback through college and would do anything to have the 50% discount back...

zuzusplace, thats sounds like a great arrangement!

Cheap Sunglasses, I KNOW!! The sauce is addicting! Craving satisfied for now, but I know it will be back soon!  Thank goodness for takeaway service!

kim, sorry about your grandpa, but it is nice that he isn't suffering.

nicmama sorry about your dog, it's hard watching loved pets get old and move on.

zuzu where do you get bantam diapers? we have a bantam and sometimes I toy with the idea of a house chicken.

tarabelle, do you have a recipe for poutine? my hubs had some  once and LOVES it, but it is very not available in florida.

oh I want liver now.  both ways sound like good ways to eat it. I vaguely remember eating it when I was a kid.

While I wasn't the one asked, poutine is really simple to make. The catch is that I doubt you can find the ingredients. Essentially, it is french fries, poutine gravy and curd cheese. We can buy curd cheese here (Ontario) though its not as good as in Quebec because you can't get it fresh. Poutine gravy I buy in packages like other gravy. If you can't find it, people here sometimes do use grated mozzarella cheese, and you could possibly get away with a beef gravy. But if you can ever get to Quebec and have the real thing, you will see why this is a poor substitute at best.

Thursday Girl, if you do a web search for chicken diapers you can find them pretty easily. They also have them on eBay. Most of them are pretty cheap and being loth diapers you only need one or two. Pay attention, because some area easier to "change" (they let you put a plastic sandwich bag in them and just change bags once a day or so).
