Looking for a Distance Learning Midwifery Program That Offers Scholarships

Can anyone recommend a distance learning midwifery program that has good financial aid/scholarships available?

Midwifery, by its very nature, is a hands on practice. Why would I trust a midwife who didn't go to a brick and mortar midwife school?

midwife-to-be is cheapest. AAMI has a very affordable payment plan option. i've been researching distance programs for a few years and i've narrowed it down to these two. most distance programs, unfortunately, aren't set up to accept federal financial aid, altho i did hear last year that Aviva was in the process. gloria lemay just recently created an affordable midwifery program that i plan on checking into.

im not sure the course below is designed to teach enough of what is needed for midwifery, it seems like more of an overview for what midwives do.

I think the Midwives College of Utah has a payment plan

The distance education is for the academic portion only. All clinical work is done locally with a preceptor or in another in-person way, such as time spent at a high-volume birth center.

Well, since you get the hands on practice during your apprenticeship, I think that a distance program could safely cover the academics.

They are a nonprofit school and they base your tuition on your ability to pay!

I know that Birthwise has a distance course and they get financial aid.

Yes midwifery is hands on and even a distance learning school is hands on, in order to get certified anywhere you MUST physically work with a midwife that is approved by your school and attend a minumum of 40 births and a long list of other things. So just the book stuff is online, the rest is physical
