Newbie, Intro myself and questions.

Hello! DH and I have been TTC 16 months, Hypothyroid diagnosis 2 months and on clomid cycle 1. Male factor, low count but motility and morph great for what is there. I use NFP charting, currently CD 18/DPO 3. Usually O on CD 18 but i suspect the clomid caused it to be early (OPK detected on CD 15). Anyone similar to me? I am trying not to lose hope, it is very frustrating. With all the info I have about what is going on with our fertility I still feel very lost. Anyone else in 2ww? Wanna start a support club :)? My cycle is usually the same (28-31 days with O 15-18, 11-13 day luteal phase.)

Any one on Clomid? Do you have side effects? I had a few unexplained headaches after the course, and the "day I seemed to O" I felt bloated.

Do you check your cervix? I think I have been trying to learn it for 5 months now and just now had a HIGH because I couldn't find it! I hope that means that the Clomid really worked! (I am only anovulatory on one side)

I wonder if I take a clomid course next month if it will produce multi folicles to errupt? that is my normal ovary....

How many cycles should you really try before moving on to the next fertility procedure? ex, clomid not working, so add more doseage. Still not working, get gonotrophins. Not working, get IUI. I have heard that clomid for 3-6 months should be effective, and if not to go off it because you are just wasting eggs. Thats gotta depend on the other factors right?

Thanks for taking the time to look at my post! Ya'll have a great weekend!

My sister just finished her second cycle of clomid, and they did an IUI with this one, but she didn't get pregnant this cycle.

There is a thread called the "2WW Support" found at http://www.mothering.com/community/t/1310031/2ww-support that you may find helpful.

Also there are threads for women in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who are trying to conceive so depending on where you fit in, one of those may be helpful.

Welcome!

Welcome to MDC!!  wave.gif

Do you use a free charting site like www.fertilityfriend.com?  If so, can you share your chart with us?  It's exciting that you noticed differences in your cycle right away when taking clomid.  I've had two friends conceive with it and one that didn't and needed IVF for her first baby and an IUI for her second.  It is certainly possible that the clomid will encourage multiple follicles to mature, but I believe that most often only one follicle "wins."  How long you try one thing before moving onto the next is really dependent on what positive changes you're seeing, how quickly you're feeling the need to conceive, and any negative changes you're experiencing.  If your dh's low sperm count, it is recommended to only DTD every other day or at most every 36 hours (so alternating morning and night BDing).

I second Lilac's recommendations to join the 2ww thread and any other TTC threads that fit what you're going through.  You may also find some helpful threads in the infertility forum where there are a lot of mamas that have used clomid and gone through IUI's and IVF.  You will find the main forums in the drop down menu and the subforums will pop up off to the side.  Then you will find the sub-subforums listed at the top of that particular subforum.  So under Pregnancy and Birth you'll find Fertility and under Fertility you'll find TTC, infertility, etc.  The threads that Lilac mentioned are all in the TTC sub-subforum right here where you posted this.  Just scroll through the threads until you find them.  Good luck and keep us posted!  Here's some baby dust for you!  dust.gif

That link takes me to my chart!  smile.gif  To post your chart, click the "share" button underneath it and copy and paste the url (minus the "My Ovulation Chart" text).  You can also add this url to your signature (edit it on your profile page) so that others can reference it at any point when you're posting.

It will look something like this: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/25f63a

The link works!  Hmm...  I'm not positive of your O day and neither is FF (hence the dashed red lines).  Did you have any fertile CF on CD 15?  It is not common to O without at least creamy and I see the OPK+ the same day.  Usually (if they are working for you) an OPK+ means you will ovulate 24-36 hours AFTER the peak reading.  Plus your CP was high the next two days.  It's possible that your O day was CD 17.  Just something to keep in mind when counting days to test.

What is your temping routine like?  Do you temp within 30 minutes of the same time each morning?  Have you tried vaginal temping to try and get more consistent temps?  What about your CF observations?  Why no data around the time of O?

I am still kinda inconsistant with checking CF. I usually get crosshairs from FF on CD 18, I think the clomid made it change. My temps are always 6:30 to 7. Another question I haveing is the wonder...they are never this high, I think. Is it also the clomid or do I have a chance this time?! But if I. Oed at normal time FFs DPO preciction is wrong? Its confusing relying on that for comparrison because I don't have a pattern yet...

May have to try vag temping next month and see if I. See a difference. Thanks for the comments!

My understanding is that higher temps can be a result of clomid helping to balance/trigger your hormones better.   CF observations are crucial when your temps are a bit on the erratic side, so definitely don't leave those out.  If you need help deciphering the different kinds of CF, let me know.  And yes, if FF's O day is not correct then your DPO count on FF would be off.  Just keep the discrepancy in mind when you're testing.  So if you test on 10 DPO per FF and get a BFN, you could be testing at just 8 DPO, which is almost a guaranteed BFN.  Likewise if you test on 12 DPO per FF, it could only be 10 DPO, which again could be too early for an accurate result.  The best solution would be to wait until at least 14 DPO, but I know that can be very hard!

Oh I'm waiting! I didn't cashe any tests this month... only have one. Waiting is a back and forth battle, sometimes I try imagining I am already PG and it helps me relax more and makes AF's arrival less hard. I'm not hoping to heart too deeply this month because I have another hormone I am trying to balance out and I suspect I have some luteal phase issues, but we will see with more testing when I have my appointment Oct. 6th. I will have a progesterone test and TSH check this weekend. Wish me luck. Thanks for all your help!
