Do you feel you accomplished much today?

On days I stay home I often feel like I've not accomplished anything and it puts me in a bad mood. Wondered if anyone else gets like that? And what do you do to feel like you've done something? I've done a general tidy up of the place, put toys away and clothes, had the washing machine on, washed up breakfast dishes etc, cleaned kitchen tops, vacuumed the carpetted rooms. There's always more house chores to do, it's never 100% all jobs done, maybe that's why I get that feeling -because it's never all completely done. But that would be impossible as it's a continuous cycle inside the home. Food prep for dinner later has yet to be done and I need to go to the store. I seem to have to get a lot done before I feel good about what I've done around here, does that make sense? Maybe because my dd is school aged and when im home I'm not looking after a little one, there is less to keep me busy.

If your home with nothing else to do, I guess I could imagine feeling like I should get SO much more done.  But I do have kids at home so I feel that way because it's true.  Your list is a good day for me.  It sounds like your expectations are high for "someone who's at home with no children to watch".

Why not find something you enjoy that you can do?  I find that I do more when I have more to do, so if I wanted to go off and write (I love to write) I would need to do xyz first and voila... xyz get done pdq!  ;)

Maybe try having ONE -- just one -- action item for the day that you want to get accomplished. Then, when you do that, you will feel productive. Since it sounds like you are generally making progress on the house work each day (a lot better that I do lol.gif) maybe your action item can be something a little more significant, like a project or large task that you have been putting off or that when completed will give you a sense of accomplishment.

For me, just managing to vacuum yesterday was my daily action item....and boy did it feel good to accomplish it! ROTFLMAO.gif
