Low progesterone a reflection of poor egg quality?

In the past few monitored cycles, I've had progesterone that was just slightly on the low side (9-9.5 on a natural cycle). My RE mentioned that this may reflect poor egg quality (just in the particular cycle, not in general). Anyone know anything about this?

Some background: I'm in my early thirties, with a controlled pituitary tumor. I never have any LP spotting and my LP is 13-14 days long, so it's not an LPD in my case. My ovarian reserve is being monitored carefully since I have a history of early menopause in my family, but thankfully everything looks great.

I'm asking because I'm about to head into a monitored cycle that should tell me more. My doctor mentioned we might try progesterone supps (but would that do anything if progesterone is low because the egg is bad?) or Clomid (to improve egg quality) or maybe hCG trigger (also to improve egg quality/move up o). Any thoughts/advice/experiences you can share, I'd be grateful!

Ummm...It does seem odd that they would give you progesterone, but then say "Hey, your progesterone is low because your egg is bad".

My guess is that progesterone may drop off faster after a medicated cycle.  Or that the Doctors are just covering all the bases.  Trigger shot plus progesterone seems to be the standard in a medicated monitored cycle.

Hope you get some good news.
