Has anyone seen this as a knitting pattern?

This pattern is so adorable but I don't know how to crochet. I am wondering if there is a similar knitting technique that would create this affect. Any ideas?

That looks really great thanks! I think that I will experiment with making the bobbles right next to eachother.
