Color is inconsistent/mottled on my prefolds

I got my Dharma dyes and thought I read and followed the directions. But, my prefolds are not consistent in color. They are kinda mottled looking. What did I do wrong, what can I do different? I don't really mind the mottled look, as it gives them character :LOL , but would like for a few of them to be like they're supposed to.

What exactly was your dye method? Can you spell out exactly what you did?

Used lukewarm water, 1 1/2 gallons, added salt until dissolved completely, mixed dye in hot water and added to the water, stirred it to get it all mixed up with the water, then added 2 cpf's, stirred alot, over 20 mins or so, then mixed up the soda ash in hot water, until dissolved and added it slowly to the water, pouring a little at a time and not directly on the fabric, kept stirring/in the dye for about an hour, rinsed everything out and washed in synthrapol a couple of times.

Did you spot anything weird? :LOL
