Toddler bedding?

My DD is 27 mos, and we're heading into the colder months...she is sleeps in a crib, so I don't have "real" bedding per se, she usually just has a small blanket in with her, that doesn't stay on her for long, with her moving around.  What kind of blanket/covers do you use, for your toddler?  I'm thinking that she is old enough that I could get use a larger blanket or comforter in her bed to keep her warm?  She does have a tendency to wake up and cry 4-5am timeframe, and I think sometimes it's because she's cold.  We couldn't put heavier pjs on her during the summer because it's so warm in the house when she goes to bed (no AC)  I will dress her warmer now that the house is colder, but it still seems like she could use a blanket too. TIA

She probably could use another blanket. When she makes the transition to a toddler bed it will be easier to put blankets on her bed. My child usually sleeps in bed with me so she uses a sheet, blanket and comforter but will take some of the layers off is she is hot or requested more if cold. I suggested a blanket that is warm but not to heavy such as a light fleece. Here is an example of a good blanket!!

I'm wondering about this, too.  Until recently, DD hated blankets, but lately she asks for her blanket "on" and wakes up saying "hot" (which generally means cold).  I'm having trouble finding crib mattress sized sheet sets and was thinking I might just make them myself.

Ds has been in a twin bed since he was 17 months but I have found that a small "crib" blanket/quilt works better. When it's colder I add another one & warm pj's. It took a long time for him to be better about keeping the blankets on but I still go in & tuck him back in before I go to bed & if I get up to pee in the night. I found when I made his bed up with a sheet & quilt he just got tangled.

We don't use sheets... the tightness is too much for DS's movements during the night. But we use his baby quilts that are heavier (the hand-made ones that were too big for the crib, but perfect for his toddler bed). Short sleeve/pants jammies with socks is all he'll tolerate - full body jammies just make him sweat like mad. He says Brrr if it's not enough, or will wake up crying if he's too hot. So mostly I leave it to him to regulate. I've just put an extra mesh blanket on his bed that he loves to snuggle in to and wrap around his arms/head, and still the quilt on him.

I have found the sleepsacks in toddler sizes, and the feet are cut out too.  We use them with the footed pajamas, since we keep our home pretty cool, and DD will snuggle with us around 4 a.m. anyway!

Goodluck!
