Felt for playhouse

Hi there, 

I want to make a princess bunk bed play house thingie, and I want to use felt. What do you think how thick should it be (the thicker, the more expensive) 1 mm, 2 mm or 5 mm? 

I´d love to take the 1 mm (less expensive) but it should hold up as well....

Personally, I would go thicker and with wool felt, not rayon, although 2mm would be OK.  Kids play so hard.  You can also sew together layers for strength.  What part of this princess bunk bed is it for, and how big?  I'm not quite picturing what you mean.

Thanks for the reply. I love woolfelt, but I could not afford it for a whole bunk bed playhouse. That would be 2 x 1,20 + 2 x (1 x 1,20) plus decorating. 1m x 0,8 is like 60 euro.  That would be around 300 - 400 euro. Too much :) 

I decided to take the viscose felt, not plastic, but not wool felt either, and waaaaay cheaper.

Now I can picture it!  I wasn't sure quite what you meant, so I didn't picture it being the whole play house walls.Those look really nice.  I think the viscose would work fine for that, and I can see how the wool would cost too much.  If you don't quite get the stiffness you need, you could reinforce with some cotton canvas not too expensively.
