Nurse going door to door in California to vaccinate children

I really don't understand why schools and vaccines are linked.  Health information should be private.  But why are these parents not just filing out an exemption?  It's quick and easy in CA.

I don't know.  I suspect some of them don't know about the exemption - the nurse or whoever he is said "we are here to give her the vax" - not "are you vaxxing?  If not - here is an exemption form."

Also, for good or for bad, some people simply avoid things they do not want to bother with.  I know a woman who is mad she even has to file an exemption (in Ontario) and refuses to participate.  The school has never made a case over it, but if they did I would hope she would file the exemption.  Your children should not suffer because you want to make a point, you know?

Of course, shame on the schools for not sending a louder message to the government that they will not be using strong-arm tactics to force the vaccine issue.

I saw this earlier today too. Unbelievable.  I'm with the lady who said, "Get the F out!"  Signs of a police state IMO.

BTW, what in the world is going on with California...12-year-olds possibly consenting to vaccines without parental knowledge, now door-to-door vaccine management....Is this the future for all states?  If it is, we'll all in trouble!

I wonder if the district is getting desperate because they will lose funding for every day these kids aren't in school? Even as a vaxer, I don't like this at all. The parents were amply notified of the new mandate and the vax was offered at school, but going to someone's home... that's rather intrusive, especially if the parents aren't home to consent or not.

I think that is a large part of it.

I also think this quote (from above link), is assumptive:

"There could be some family dynamics where they're having hardships in the house and this isn't a top priority in them making it day to day," Matlock said."

I do not doubt that some people simply could not get their kids to the vaccine clinics, but I am certain some people simply do not want their kids vaccinated for whatever purposes.

Ah, well, lets just hope it was a one-off misjudgement by a school district and does not dissolve into any sort of pattern.
