Motion sickness due to pregnancy

I have never gotten motion sickness in my life except when going on non-stop fair rides in the hot sun.  But lately I have been feeling sick in the car, when I swing with DD, etc.  I dont remember feeling this way last time, but last time I wasnt doing much swinging or riding in the back seat of the car.  Is this happening to anyone else?

Yep. The other day I brought ds on the carousal at the fair. Almost heaved. I used to be the queen of rides! I couldn't wait for that kiddie ride to be done with.

I never had motion sickness, then after my 3rd son was born I can't ride anywhere without getting sick.  It's worse in small cars that are low to the ground, being the passenger and in heavy stop/go traffic.  Very irritating side effect, for sure. I thought maybe it would go away with time (hormones getting back to normal) but it's been nearly 4 years and still the same every time I go anywhere.  Being pregnant with nausea AND car sickness is awesome rolleyes.gif.

I'm sorry you're experiencing it too, it'd be interesting to find out why our bodies change like this.

Oh no!  I was thinking it was just the pregnancy and I would be back to normal after baby is born.  I sure hope that mine goes away and does not become permanent!!  I would be very interested in knowing why this is too!

I had this last pregnancy. Whenever I was in car/train too long, road was too curvy, etc. I would throw up. It started around the end of the 1st trimester and continued throughout the 2nd.

This time, I do not have this problem. My everyday nausea has been much worse than last pregnancy and has lasted longer (finally feeling mostly normal now at 24 weeks), but I have not actually thrown up (lots of dry gagging, though).

So, it doesn't have to get worse with each pregnancy. Our first is a boy and this one a girl, if that means anything.
