Deutsch-englische Connection

Hey:) As I already said, my father is from England and my mother from Germany. I grew up in England and I am  back in Germany since a few years. I speak the German language quite well, but I have little difficulties with the grammar. I'm here with my baby, and my recently married man (he is German!). We live in the Land of Baden Württemberg. It's a small village where just a few people live, but there is a small supermarket and a drugstore with the daily essentials like shampoo, blemish balm, diapers, etc., the landscape is otherwise very nice, and we have our rest. I am looking for people who are like me, and I want to know a little bit about you? How do you feel here? Do you see the differences?

Thx 4 everything!

Hi! I just wanted to say welcome back to Germany!

I am American, married to a German, with a 16 month old boy. We are in Cologne, I've been here 8 years.

My German is okay, but we use English at home and I am pretty lazy about speaking German even though of course I have to every day out there in the world!

I wish I had more time to chat but I don't. I just wanted to say hi and welcome, and I'll come back some other time.

Hi there! It's nice to see others in Germany on this site! I'm an American, my husband is German, and we have a 9-mo son. I've been here for 11 years now, so my German is pretty fluent. We are trying to raise DS bilingually, so I speak English to him, and my husband German.

And yet another American living in Germany, hehe. In NRW, actually, in the Dortmund area (not IN Dortmund, but not terribly far from it). I've got two little ones, whom I'm single-parenting. Was married to a German, we are now divorced for reasons I don't need to go into right now. ;-)

I've been here for 7 years now, so my German is pretty good. Not *excellent*, but definitely enough to get by with and make friends/talk to people.

Anyway, good to meet you ladies!
