nervous about nursing my super-distractable DD on an upcoming flight - what to do?

I am taking my 8 month old DD on a 3 hour flight in a month and am very nervous.  We haven''t done much nursing in public, mainly because she is just too interested in what is going on around her, but I also don't want to flash everyone as she repeatedly pulls off to look around.  I've read that it helps the LO with air pressure to nurse during take-off and landing, but I am not sure that she will.  I guess I'm just wondering how other moms have done it, maybe some encouragement.  I am very shy, and it is a booked flight, so no chance of an empty seat next us.

Would a nursing cover help?  Has anyone tried this?

TIA

If a baby likes to look around they probably won't like a nursing cover or blanket over them. If you have time you might try getting the baby used to a sling. You could use it to carry the baby in it at the airports and maybe nurse the baby on the plane. Two of my babies liked nursing in slings. You might try wearing a blouse that was extra roomy around the bottom so you could kind of stick the baby up under your shirt to nurse if possible or at least cover the baby as much as possible.

I always took night flights to increase the chance the baby would sleep. If you are shy, having a quiet nursing baby is better than having a screaming baby on the plane. I'm sure you will do fine.
