*Name (whatever you would like to be called or like us to know you by): cailin

*EDD: 30th June 2012

*Age/ age when the baby will be born: 28

*Location: Edmonton, CA

*How long it took you to get your BFP: 3 months

*What number child is this for you: 2

*Family (partner, other children, pets): husband and son (age 2)

*Birth plans/preferences: homebirth if I can get a midwife (severe shortage here!)

*Thoughts / anything else you you would like to share: I am totally nervous again, especially since I might not get a midwife.  I want to enjoy this more than I did the first.  I just can't wait to reach the 'safe' stage and get a midwife.

*Name (whatever you would like to be called or like us to know you by): Rainey

*EDD: June 10th

*Age/ age when the baby will be born: 35/36

*Location: Saginaw, TX

*How long it took you to get your BFP: One full cycle after miscarriage

*What number child is this for you: #2 (but really #4 if you count my angel babies)

*Family (partner, other children, pets): Husband, son Bug (2 years old), one spoiled princess of a cat named Ami

*Birth plans/preferences: Natural birth in hospital with nurse midwife (though in a moment of weakness I may beg for an epidural)

*Thoughts / anything else you you would like to share: Despite a few episodes of spotting and not having yet seen any medical professional about this pregnancy (I've got an appointment this next Tuesday) I am going to go ahead and join the DDC. I am VERY nervous, as I've had two miscarriages in the last eight months and will most likely be holding my breath for this pregnancy for a while!!

*Name (whatever you would like to be called or like us to know you by): Liz

*EDD: June 3

*Age/ age when the baby will be born: 30/31

*Location: Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

*How long it took you to get your BFP: total accident!

*What number child is this for you: 3

*Family (partner, other children, pets): Adam (husband of 8 years, Fiona 4, Simone 3, 2 cats)

*Birth plans/preferences: My second was a VBAC, but both births were very weird and my main objectives are 1) to go into labour completely on my own and 2) to avoid IVs, monitors, and epidurals. We might try to have a home birth this time.

*Thoughts / anything else you you would like to share: I'm late getting to the group because my pregnancy is an IUD pregnancy! I had a copper IUD in for about a year and a half, and it was still perfectly in place when I got pregnant, but many weeks were spent confirming the pregnancy, getting the IUD out, and then confirming the pregnancy again. I'm still in a bit of denial about this unplanned blessing, but I'm trying to embrace it.

*EDD: 6/4/12

*How long it took you to get your BFP: 2 cycles (?)

*What number child is this for you: 2nd

*Family (partner, other children, pets): DH, DS (2yo)

*Birth plans/preferences: VBAC (exploring options)

*Thoughts / anything else you you would like to share: Joining late because I've been really nervous about this pregnancy because of my irregular cycles and late ovulation. I didn't join a DDC last time so I am excited to share this journey with others.

*Name: Pit Bull

*EDD: June 23rd

*Age/ age when the baby will be born: 27/28

*Location: NYC

*How long it took you to get your BFP: 2 (was very surprised it happened so quickly... we got married in June 2011!)

*What number child is this for you: 1

*Family (partner, other children, pets): Husband of 5 months, sweet pit bull

*Birth plans/preferences: Found the only free-standing birthing center in NYC and am going to an orientation there this weekend. Ideally, I would love a natural birth, no interventions, attended by my husband, my mother, and the midwives and wonderful staff at the birthing center. I tend to want to be alone during times of pain so I can see myself requiring a lot of hands off, quiet support from a distance. I am absolutely thrilled to be pregnant!!!

*Birth plans/preferences:  Hoping for a birthing center or homebirth.  We did unmedicated, hospital for Cecily, and I'd like to go unmedicated again but not at a hospital

*Thoughts / anything else you you would like to share:  Thanks, LionessMom, for telling me about this!  I'm still really in shock because we had wanted an only child.

Hi Everyone,

I am out this round.  Had a second appt yesterday at 10 weeks and heart beat is out.  I am still in a bit of shock.  Apparently happened recently, like in week 9.  Not sure what to expect and hope our little grape passes naturally and with ease.

Thank you all for your support, best wishes to all, and until next time,

In Wellness,
Sasha

I'm out. The surprise twin pregnancy turned out to be a blighted ovum and a non-viable embryo that never developed a heartbeat before it started falling apart. sigh.

Much happiness and positive thoughts to all of you!
