*EDD: June 9th

*Age/ age when the baby will be born: 38/39

Hello beautiful baby mamas...so happy to be here with you! ~elisha

*Name (whatever you would like to be called or like us to know you by): Elisha

*EDD: June 1st-June 10th, 2012

*Age/ age when the baby will be born: 28 going on 29.

*Location: grand rapids, mi

*How long it took you to get your BFP: About 13-14 cycles since we were married 8/21/10, but we were NOT actively trying.  Our baby is very much wanted and yet equally unexpected!  Suppose we got just a little lazy with NFP charting last month ;).  Shockingly positive home test on 10/2/11, confirmed at the doctor yesterday 10/5/11 (I was in semi-denial until the doctor confirmed it).  This should be an exciting ride for Ed and me...we're just trying to wrap our minds around the fact that this is real!

*What number child is this for you: First!

*Family (partner, other children, pets): My husband Ed and our 2 feline children, Jim & Moose (meow)...and a tiny tiny baby on the way.

*Birth plans/preferences: Definitely leaning towards a homebirth if that is financially and physically feasible.  We're just starting the process of evaluating our best options, talking with midwives, weighing the costs, etc.  I'd love to have the most natural and empowering birth experience possible.

*Thoughts / anything else you you would like to share: I'm currently in grad school working towards my Master's in Social Work (MSW), graduating this June 2012...so that means I'll be having a graduation baby (likely due just before graduation).  I'm interning currently at a local psychiatric hospital, specifically working with patients with eating disorders.  I really enjoy talking and learning about mental health issues, particularly women's issues with self-esteem, body image, finding your voice and gaining the confidence to share your story.  I'd love to hear and share the stories that have shaped you/us.

Excited to be positively inspired by you all as we go through this journey together :)  I need all the good female energy I can get!

*Name (whatever you would like to be called or like us to know you by): Sarah

*EDD: 6/16/2012

*Age/ age when the baby will be born: 30/31

*Location: Wyoming

*How long it took you to get your BFP: 3 months

*What number child is this for you: 2

*Family (partner, other children, pets): DH and 2 yr old DD, plus horse and dog

*Birth plans/preferences: HBAC!

*Thoughts / anything else you you would like to share: So excited to be here (BFP just yesterday) but our first pregnancy ended in miscarriage and I'm fighting anxiety about that.  Also still a little in denial that I'm even pregnant!  It's hard so early before you feel anything different.  I planned a drug free hospital birth with my DD and long story but ended up with a C section.  Very excited about a HBAC and so excited to be here with so many other women planning homebirths.

*Name (whatever you would like to be called or like us to know you by): Tib

*EDD: 6/5

*Age/ age when the baby will be born: 28,29

*Location: Oklahoma

*How long it took you to get your BFP: surprise - early mc last month, this was our first month trying

*What number child is this for you: 4

*Family (partner, other children, pets): DH-29, DD1-5, DD2-3, DD3-2, 3 dogs, 3 cats, 3 guinea pigs, 2 hamsters, 1 tortoise..... did I forget anyone?

*Birth plans/preferences: natural hospital birth, fourth times the charm :p Given up on the idea of unassisted HB, every kid has had the cord wrapped around their necks at least once. Hoping to take it easy, let labor happen without help, and finally get a pain free/med free birth.

*Thoughts / anything else you you would like to share - DD1 was emergency c/s due to bleeding, DD2 was a complicated 36 hour labor VBAC, DD3's VBAC entery was aided with "natural labor induction methods" big mistake, it was faster than DD2, but lots of pain, don't do it.

*Name (whatever you would like to be called or like us to know you by): okapi

*EDD:6-17-2011 - got very faint BFP this morning. OK, it was actually 2 very faint BFPs. Probably won't believe until/unless I get a few more over the next couple days!

*Age/ age when the baby will be born: 33/34

*Location: Charlottesville, VA

*How long it took you to get your BFP: I thought 3 cycles, but apparently DH wasn't on board until this one. He came up to me the week before O & asked if we could start trying, and I was like "uh, yeah, don't you remember we had this convo 3 months ago??" lol.gif

*What number child is this for you:2

*Family (partner, other children, pets): DH & I (conception probably occurred on our anniversary!) and DD who will be 4 in Nov.

*Birth plans/preferences: Hoping for a natural birth w/ my awesome midwife in the hospital.

*Thoughts / anything else you you would like to share: I had severe preeclampsia w/ DD which resulted in a c-sec, and there's definitely a concern it will happen again. Especially since I had a dr appt a few days after O, and my BP was slightly high (122/84 - unusual for me, and it was def under 120/80 in June). I'm hoping it was more due to the week of no sleep (DD was up a lot because she was sick) then a sign of things to come. crap.gif Guess I won't be running that 1/2 marathon in November, either. Oh well, having a baby is more fun, anyway! orngbiggrin.gif

Okapi!  Yay, a local mom!  I bet your midwife's office mate would encourage you to run that marathon.  ;)  I would get up and cheer for you, but I don't do mornings.  Let me know when you run a midnight marathon and I'll be out there with gel packs and water bottles.

Hi!! Good to see you smile.gif Yes, I am sure he would - just not sure if I'm going to be up for it! It'll be my first, so I'm following a training program that has me increasing my milage for the next few weeks - right in the middle of the 1st trimester. We'll see how it goes. And I'll let you know if I find any midnight runs wink1.gif
post #29 of 178

I have a half marathon scheduled for Nov 12 as well .... this will be my second, and I'll be 10 weeks PG at that point. I ran 10 miles the day before I had my BFP, so I'm going for it. I just won't have a time goal.

I'm hanging out over at the Dingos thread in Health and Fitness, and gleaning much information from the gals there.

*Name (whatever you would like to be called or like us to know you by): Zub

*EDD: 6/4

*Age/ age when the baby will be born: 35/36

*Location: Maine (but I'm from the UK)

*How long it took you to get your BFP: I recently experienced a missed miscarriage and this was the first proper cycle post D and C

*What number child is this for you: 2

*Family (partner, other children, pets): DH, DS (2!), 2 westies and a kitty.

*Birth plans/preferences: natural hospital birth. We had a great experience with DS

*Thoughts / anything else you you would like to share. The truth is I am really hesitant to post here. I am terrified following a recent loss. I feel like I'm tempting fate being here. But, when I am not freaking out I am really into running and triathlons. Before I became pregnant with the baby I lost I was training for a half ironman. I feel tremendous guilt that I did something to cause the loss so I am not doing much in the way of exercise right now (which is actually also due to really significant nausea already). I'm also a professor and aside from my English husband, all my family are back in the UK!

Waving to a fellow dingo, Dianna! wave.gif

Name: Crystal
EDD: 6/12
Age/ age when the baby will be born: 28/29
Location: Columbia, MO
How long it took you to get your BFP: 1 long, weird cycle
What number child is this for you: 2
Family (partner, other children, pets): DH, 16mo DD
Birth plans/preferences: VBAC
Thoughts / anything else you would like to share: I’m still nursing DD fairly frequently, but I’d like to wean during the pregnancy. I actually just got my BFP today and am a little overwhelmed by all of the decisions I need to make about my care (Do I want an HBAC? Do I want a waterbirth? Should I stick with my GP? Why is there only 1 CNM in my town and why doesn’t she take my insurance? etc., etc.)

I was supposed to be running my first marathon Nov 20th! I haven't messaged them yet to switch to the half. I figure I'll wait till first appt and make sure everything is fine (had an early mc last month) Last month was a surprise, this month we decided to try,,,, I guess I just didn't think it would happen so quick :p I've stopped running entirely, but my best friend I grew up with signed up for the half so I think we're both going to walk it together. :)

Wow, lots of pregnant dingos. I never could keep up with the dingo thread, but I'm friends with a lot of them on fb :)

*Name (whatever you would like to be called or like us to know you by): Shan

*EDD: 6/17

*Age/ age when the baby will be born: 32

*Location: Portland, OR

*How long it took you to get your BFP: 1 month

*What number child is this for you: 2

*Family (partner, other children, pets): I have a wonderful husband, and a lovely little boy who is almost 19 months.

*Birth plans/preferences: I'm hoping to have another great homebirth, but if I don't that's okay too.

*Thoughts / anything else you you would like to share: I can't believe I'm pregnant! We just got a very faint second line this morning on the dollar store pregnancy test, but I've had a feeling these past few days that I could be pregnant. I had some cramping and no period which happened with my first pregnancy too. I'm still Bfing my tot and hope to continue to do so until he's ready to be done, but I know it can be challenging with pregnancy. I'm hoping to stay active during this pregnancy, unlike my last. I'm also going to night school, so it should be interesting to see how it goes. I'm kind of feeling apprehensive about how I will handle it all, but I'm just telling myself to take it a day at a time.

Lovely to meet you all and I hope that we all have a happy and healthy journey over these next 9 months.

*EDD: June 21 2012

*Age/ age when the baby will be born: 31/32

*Location: Philadelphia  (West Philly!)

*How long it took you to get your BFP: a hot minute.  First real try - which is awesome and unexpected because it took us over two years to conceive our first.

*What number child is this for you: two!

*Family (partner, other children, pets): My partner Jessica (who goes by "dad" to our son), our 17 month old son Leo, and our pug Talula.

*Birth plans/preferences: I'm thinking we might go for home birth this time :)  We had our son at a birth center - and had a wonderful experience.

*Thoughts / anything else you you would like to share:  I'm still nursing and am not sure how I will be navigating tandem nursing but am willing to give it a shot.  My biggest concern is that Leo still nurses to sleep and I'm trying to figure out how to set us up for when the baby arrives and I can't always do that.

*What number child is this for you: 2

*Family (partner, other children, pets): Husband of 7 years and almost 6 year old son.

*Birth plans/preferences: Another homebirth, hopefully!

*Thoughts / anything else you you would like to share: DH will be finishing his last year of school, so as the main breadwinner, next year's going to be interesting to say the least. But as a teacher, this oops couldn't have been better timed- I'll be able to finish out most if not all of the year, do a year mat leave, then still have 2 more months of summer before going back to work.
