i just got my pos this morning and have not even told dh yet. i am a little nervous bc he didnt want anymore. my barrier failed and i o'ed a week early. but he was the one who started it. mwahaha. anyway, i am not telling people yet until i get my us to make sure it is not an ectopic. i had one after my oldest. i almost died bc it ruptured. they had done 4 or 5 us's trying to find it but at 8 weeks i ruptured. so until i see the little bean securely in my uterus i will not feel like sharing. every pregnancy after that one has been rough until i see it is safe.

Hello everyone,

Name: Krista

EDD: 6/15/12

Age: I'll be 30 when the baby is supposed to be born

Location: Kenai Peninsula, Alaska

How long: it's been one year since our loss (Oct. 2010)

What number child? second

Family: DH, DS, and that's it. Not even a goldfish to speak of. We are wanderers of sorts...

Birth plans/ preferences: VBAC. Not easy where I live, so I'm crossing my fingers.

Thoughts/ Sharing: I'm a little nervous about joining but I figure lurking is creepier. I haven't actually had a positive test yet, but that's par for the course with me (see my  getting pregnant with my son story here; he had to be confirmed by ultrasound in my third month). So I've flunked two tests to date, but have all the symptoms and am totally sure I'm PG. Just entered the 7th week. So I'm joining. However, I had a pretty devastating m/c (aren't all m/cs, though?) in October of last year; it died at 7 weeks and I had to have an d&c at 11 weeks because I didn't pass it. It was a long time to be pregnant and not at the same time, so I'm a little nervous about that, especially the next few weeks.

On another note, you guys are the only people I can tell, but I'm sure of the sex and I've been told (in my mind, somehow) the name (which is not necessarily how I would have set the name up, but there it is). I'm not really that kind of person, that gets "spoken to" (cheesey) but it is what it is. If I make it to 20 weeks and the gender matches what I've been told, I'll tell you all her name.

Wow, Krista, what a journey!!  I'm sorry about your loss mama and I hope this little one sticks around!!!   It's pretty unique to not get a + test but see the baby on ultrasound.  I've actually only ever heard that story one other time.  Very cool, but I'm sure nerve wracking as well.  I can't wait to hear your intuition and little ones name. :o)

*Name (whatever you would like to be called or like us to know you by): My real name is Jess, but aeiou is fine for internet purposes : ) (I'm horrible at names and that's the one that's right next to my posts, so yeah)

*EDD: June 28, 2012

*Age/ age when the baby will be born: 31

*Location: Jenkintown, PA (right outside of Philadelphia)

*How long it took you to get your BFP: I was actually just charting to get into the habit before we started TTC, so it was a pleasant surprise.

*What number child is this for you: second

*Family (partner, other children, pets): Husband, first kiddo who'll be 2 1/2, 1 cat.

*Birth plans/preferences: Hoping to actually have a home birth this time, since I developed high BP last time and had to be induced. Trying to be all zen pregnancy so it can happen.

*Thoughts / anything else you you would like to share: I'm totally psyched to be a part of this group. We're waiting to tell family and friends til Christmas (except my husband told a friend of his he only talks to online and I'm telling you all :D ) or maybe Thanksgiving if we get impatient.

Decca, I'm so sorry to hear the news of your loss.

*Name (whatever you would like to be called or like us to know you by): Halling works. :)

*EDD: 6/29/2012 ! Man, it makes me so happy to type that.

*Age/ age when the baby will be born:  32

*Location: Currently in central VA, will probably be moving to NYC before this baby is born

*How long it took you to get your BFP: 3 cycles

*What number child is this for you: 2

*Family (partner, other children, pets): I have a wonderful husband and delightful 17 month old son. Also a fun, energetic little dog.

*Birth plans/preferences: I would like a med free birth center birth.

*Thoughts / anything else you you would like to share: I am excited by intimidated by the thought of our move, but one of the things that's a comfort to me is that I'm hoping there will be more birth options up there. Here there are no birth centers and I wasn't comfortable with a home birth, so I ended up with an OB and hospital birth. It was AMAZING all around, but I know it is only because we were really firm advocates for what we wanted *and* I had an easy quick birth.

Name: Kristen

EDD: June 10th-ish

Age: 26

Location: Western Mass

How long it took to get my BFP: Well...we certainly weren't TRYING...in fact we were avidly hoping not to get pregnant (altho not being particularly pro-active in terms of birth control). It's a super new relationship so ironically, bc of the way pregnancy is counted, not from the date of conception but from you lnmp, our pregnancy started the same day as our relationship!!

What number child: 3 (I have 2 boys from a previous relationship)

Family: Me, my partner, James. DS (almost 7), jensen. DS (4) Elijah. one cat, Luna.

Birth Plans: HBAC

Thoughts: wow...what a whirlwind of a few weeks! lots of adjustments, lots of emotions, lots of fears and equally lots of excitement!
