I hope everyone is have a great October!  It is very fallish here in the Pacific Northwest and of course, wet!  Makes me want to snuggle up and plan for the holidays!

Hi Forestmushroom! Definitely feeling fallish here :) According to a due date calc. I'm 8 weeks (9 on the 4th).  Right now I am still not about cooking or cleaning.

My husband has really stepped up and has been doing a lot of it. I enjoy the food he makes, but making food makes me want to vomit. I have enjoyed eating ritz crackers and processed cheese lately, and oatmeal.

Right now all the kids in the house have a cough/sore throat and some vomitting. I have the sore throat and congestion. I think from our trip to the big city.

I found a Moses basket at the thrift store in great shape for $5. I was pretty happy about that. Also bought a birth ball, pregnancy bellydance dvd, and 10 cloth diapers. I also got a couple new binkies, and am almost done with the wool blanket I've been knitting.I think I will make a second mei-tei and also make a ring sling.

School started last week. I'm a little tired with homeschooling and a full load of classes, but I am going to try and stick it out this term.

I am definitely feeling something going on down there. :)

Name: pregnova

Appointments: 7 weeks, 1 day

Symptoms: OMG the nausea!!!

Food: um food? *barf*

Exercise: still getting over this awful cold, so no exercise over here ;-)

Body changes and other milestones: definite baby bump...and call me crazy, but I can SOOOO feel my fundus!!!! it's super low, but definitely there and exciting to feel!

Thoughts: I'm feeling super into this pregnancy now. I always knew that we would do an unassisted birth for the second baby, but I didn't make the decision about an unassisted pregnancy until we found out we were pregnant. So, I've been trying as best I can to relax into this pregnancy, but with things feeling so different from ds's pregnancy and having to wait until 6 weeks before I felt anything like real symptoms, I was starting to feel a bit nervous about that decision. Now, with m.s. so full swing and the definite baby bump and having gotten through what ended up being a fairly high fever without feeling the need for an OB or a midwife, I'm feeling super confident in my choice and really really excited about this Baby.

My sister-in-law is also preggo...I don't think she's joined this group yet, but I've sent her the link. She's only 2 weeks behind me which is ENORMOUSLY exciting. I feel like I have an extra close preggo buddy which is really nice ;-)

Name: Meredith

Weeks/Days along: 8 weeks tomorrow

Appointments: I've had my initial visit with the midwife - I won't have another one until the 24th

Symptoms: boobs are finally a little bigger (yay!) and my belly is quite a bit bigger actually. I'm sleepy.

Food: I want southern breakfast food - especially hash browns and grits. Red sauce (like, spaghetti sauce) makes me nauseated

Exercise: none! I plan to start walking again, but right now I'm just chasing after DS

Body changes and other milestones: baby bump!!! I'm loving being pregnant, but honestly a little worried about how big I am so early on...makes me think by 40 weeks I'll be gigantic

Thoughts: I'm feeling pretty good, just don't have much energy.

Pregnova, that is so fun that your sister in law is pregnant at the same time!

Onemore, $5 for a moses basket -- awesome deal!!! I have been checking craigslist for little wicker bassinets and moses baskets without much luck

Name: Lindsay

Appointments: 9 or 10 weeks

Symptoms: Nausea, though not as bed as it had been, round ligament pain today!

Food: bleh.  Trying to eat, but only junk food sounds good...

Exercise: teaching yoga, that's about it for now... will start back TAKING yoga classes soon, and also other exercise

Body changes and other milestones: I am starting to feel my belly, although it's so funny how much bigger it is in the evenings!

Thoughts: I still need to contact my midwife from my last pregnancy!  Maybe tomorrow.  I guess I've been stressed because my husband's job situation is up in the air and we don't even know if we'll be in this area when we give birth!!  I want to be "set" with someone to be my midwife, ya know?  So I've kinda been putting off figuring it all out hoping that he'll get some interviews or something, lol.  My twin sis is preg with her first- due in March!  I'm pregnant with my 3rd!  So it's pretty fun for me, and I'm TRYING to keep my obsessed w/ pregnancy/birth thoughts to myself unless she asks me something (which she has not).  I guess I was in a different place w/ my first as well.

Name: Bonniejean

Weeks/Days along: 8w 4 days

Appointments: Ultrasound two weeks ago, next appointment 10/10

Symptoms: All day, constant nausea, slowly easing up (knocking on wood!), slight cramping (round ligament pain?), terribly sore breasts, lots of acne

Food: I eat all day long, because that's what makes my tummy feel better, protein and carb combos help, rice and veggie stir fry, homemade chicken noodle soup, lots of fruit, I made some banana bread last night

Exercise: very little, which considering all the food I'm consuming is slightly alarming, I try to fit yoga in where I can

Body changes and other milestones: I might have a tummy, but I had a tummy before. I'm a size 16, so I can't really tell!

Thoughts: I'm wearing sweats or maternity clothes all of the time because of the nausea. I can't have anything tight around my tummy. The cramping is bothersome, but I realize it's normal. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law just gave birth to twins two days ago! I can't imagine how overwhelmed they are. Right now they are filled with bliss.

It's so fun that others are sharing their pregnancies with family members (I only had a few weeks with my sister-in-law)!

Name: Gwen

Weeks/Days along: 9 weeks tomorrow

Appointments: None scheduled yet. Still haven't chosen a care provider

Symptoms: Nausea and tons of gas. I have never burped so much in my life. I certainly never burped so much with my daughter's pregnancy.

Food: Still not eating as healthy as I should or even cooking regularly. I started actually puking this last week and have been having lots of dry heaves.

Exercise: Some gardening (hoeing and raking). We all came down with some nasty, vicious upper respiratory infection last week. That combined with the nausea... my house needs a hazmat team. I need to use whatever spare energy I have on cleaning the house not exercising.

Body changes and other milestones: None really. I have a pretty flabby belly so I think it will be quite some time before I  get more bump than flab.

Thoughts: Contacted a midwife regarding her policies and found it very encouraging. I live in FL where if your insurance covers maternity services, they have to cover homebirths. Then I realized our plan is an EPO, and they don't cover ANYTHING out of network. A midwife would definitely be considered out of network. We should be having open enrollment for insurance soon, and that will take effect January 1st. I think we could change to a PPO then, but anything between now and the end of the year we would completely responsible for.

I'm seriously just thinking about taking the path of least resistance and going to an OB. It's just easier and cheaper. No need to worry about a possible hospital transfer at the end. No need to worry about insurance and all that jazz.

Name: Lindsay

Weeks/Days along: 8 weeks today

Appointments: I had one last week and I have to remember to book my ultrasound and next appt today... I keep forgetting!

Symptoms: I am pretty lucky- I am feeling these things but mostly mildly- tired, backache, nauseous, achy... every couple of days I get a really bad round of nausea and if I just lay down for 20 minutes, it subsides. I feel pregnant and heavy and swollen. My boobs are still achy and I feel letdown every once and a while. I am not as moody as I was- well I am not as grumpy, I am still pretty weepy!

Food: I have no cravings or aversions. I did want a specific banana cream pie and my DH surprised me with it for our 7 year wedding anniversary yesterday. I am loving ice cold water and grapes and watermelon. The other thing that I want to do a lot (that I never want to do) is go out for breakfast!!!

Exercise: I am trying to go for a walk everyday but I usually end up at ****bucks or the mall and treat myself so there goes the benefits of the walking

Body changes and other milestones: swollen, bloated, heavy- I look pregnant, very pregnant! I am even doing a bit of a waddle because of my lower back ache. I must look AWESOME! hahahaha

Thoughts: Please let the first trimester be over with.... please!!!! I want to know what the gender is so I can start calling it by name. I have the most amazing older children. My DS (who just turned three on Saturday) and my DD (5 next month) let me lay on the couch as much as I need. DD says "is the baby making you tired? Lay down and have a rest mommy, I will tidy up". My kids are AMAZING!!!

We went and saw the movie Courageous last night and I sobbed the whole time. On our way out of the house, all I could grab was a roll of toilet paper, how classy was I pulling that out of my purse to wipe my face! The movie was incredible- if it is something up your alley. It is really up our alley as DH is a Police Officer. It really reminded me of how important the role of a Father is. I was getting pretty wrapped up in my role and I needed the reminder that it takes two people to get pregnant and that is on purpose!!! I am so blessed to have a partner as wonderful as DH is!

Name:  Katie

Weeks/Days along:  8w1d

Appointments:  November 1st!!

Symptoms:   Major headaches, all day long, every day. They stink.  Nauseous. Tired.  Thirsty and peeing a lot.

Food:  No cravings or anything really, except for jalapeno poppers the other day!

Exercise:  None. I was exercising regularly at the gym, taking 1 hour long classes, but I am so tired I just can't make it through.  Plus, my butt is all sore and bruised from my progesterone injections that it hurts to do much. I'd like to try to do something, but am hoping it'll get easier and I can do more once I feel less tired.

Body changes and other milestones:  We saw the heartbeat last week! That was such a relief.  I can also feel my uterus now, which is really exciting too.

Thoughts:  Just hoping to make it to the 2nd trimester and really looking forward to getting there and being able to tell people the good news.

I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow, so expecting nausea to start this week. So far I've been feeling good except being tired.

My midwife friend talked to the director of their midwife program and it sounds like I can start out with my friend at her clinic instead of going to the one I can't stand, waiting for confirmation of that but am excited. I can't wait to get in there and hear a heartbeat. I have this irrational fear that I am having twins, just because this is #4, the last one, and I really don't want 5 kids! So I am also looking forward to finding out that I am not having twins, which I'm sure I'm not! So silly.

I've been walking a couple days a week to pick up my older kids from school, while carrying dd3. It's a little over 2.5 miles round trip, uphill going there. Also getting a little walking in on the beach, which is always fun!

Got a great deal on a used double stroller, the Kolcraft Contours Options. I really like it because you can turn the seats to both face forward or back , or have them face one another, or one facing forward one facing back. So I think that will be really fun for them. dd3 hasn't been in a stroller yet because I carry her everywhere, but am already looking forward to future zoo trips when I can throw lunches, water bottles, sweaters, etc in the stroller! I always thought that my favorite part of having a stroller was being able to cart around a bunch of stuff without carrying it.

Also craving Asian food again... this is a pregnancy constant for me, which really sucks because it's the one type of food I really feel like I can't cook well, so we end up eating out because I just HAVE to have Thai. dd3 should keep us from doing too much eating out though, I'm not crazy about taking babies to restaurants.

Pregnova, that is great about your SIL! My SIL had a baby 11 days before dd3, but they live in Portland so we don't get to see them much. We did see them this summer though, and it was really fun. I loved having cousins near my age as a kid, so it made me really happy that we have babies so close.

And LindsayJean, that is great about your twin! How fun. Does she live nearby?

Name: Holly

Weeks/Days along: 6w 4d

Appointments: We had an ultrasound last Friday and saw and heard the little one's heart beat, It was amazing! I have an apt Wednesday, but it might be canceled since the u/s was normal.

Symptoms: nausea on and off all day, sore breasts in the morning, and light cramps intermittently through the day.

Food: I'm eating about five small meals a day which seems to keep the nausea in check, although, when I start to eat I feel a little better, but about half way through, I can't even look at food anymore. I also have a strong aversion to very plain foods, plain bread, unsalted crackers, plain butter, all make me feel sicker...ugg, I cant belive I have 6 more weeks of this!

Exercise: Just walking, waiting till 12 weeks to start pre-natal yoga

Body changes and other milestones: no body changes, except feeling sick almost always, milestones: hearing the heartbeat and we also told our parents, they were so excited!

Thoughts: I am really starting to feel pregnant, seeing the heartbeat made it all feel so real!, it's amazing to know there is a living being inside who has their own independent beating heart! wow!

Yeah, I absolutely LOVE having my sister-in-law so closely pregnant. We live fairly far apart, but we've been emailing each other multiple times a day since  we first started THINKING about conceiving, so it's super awesome. It'll be her first, and I know she has tons of questions, so I'm sure she'll be on here soon ;-)

Name: Jen

Weeks/Days along: 6weeks 1 day

Appointments: Emergency Ultrasound Saturday...

Symptoms: Major nausea and some belly pain that was concerning at first.

Food: Crackers, cheese, salad (lots of salad for some reason...) and steak...

Exercise: Not allowed, and I'm missing my daily walks

Body changes and other milestones: We saw the baby's heartbeat on Saturday, which shocked everyone to the core!

Thoughts: I can't believe I'm still pregnant. This is normally when I miscarry, and after 8 losses, the most recent in April, it's a nice change of pace to still be feeling pregnant and have no bleeding!!! My wedding is in 6 days (on the 9th!!!!!) and I'm stressed beyond measure, but I'm still smiling all the time!!

Name: Maggie

Weeks/Days along: 7 weeks 2 days

Appointments: none scheduled as of right now, hoping to hear soon!

Symptoms: still tender breasts, itchy sometimes, headaches, tired, constipation and nausea but no vomiting....

Food: eating LOTS of carbs, fresh veggies and fruit, drinking lots of water

Exercise: walking my dog and light yoga stretching

Body changes and other milestones: my belly is growing and my pants are feeling tighter, feeling pregnant.

Thoughts: getting anxious to see have an appt. Really feeling blessed that my symptoms have been mild, but worried about that at the same time. Everything I read says that symptoms mean healthy baby. I just get myself worked up about it.

Name: Astraia
Days/Weeks: 9 w 3 d (I think? I'm lost already)
Appointments: Still waiting for Oct 13!
Symptoms: food aversions, tiredness. That's it.
Food: crappy food. No cooked veggies, very limited cooked meats unless it's fast food style.
Exercise: none. I'm too damn busy. Does housework count?
Body changes: Felt the top of my uterus last night. It was pretty exciting. Obviously have a bit of a belly now, a pregnant-looking belly, but all my pants still fit.
Thoughts: overall, week from hell. Electricity in the basement went out entirely, our car won't start and it's looking like a 1000+$$ repair job, and the tree in the back yard has developed a major split right down the middle and needs to be taken down. My husband is useless and his idea of a "thorough clean" of the house is to throw toys away randomly and load the dishwasher (but not run it), and spent a while telling me how much work he put into it :/ I'm sorry, I'm exhausted and working very nearly full time hours, the LEAST you could do is sweep the damn floor once a week.

Good news: My sister just found out she's pregnant! I think she's due the end of the month, but still waiting for clarification on that one.

My DH is a police officer too so we'll have to go see this! Of course, I sobbed throughout The Help, which was the last movie he took me to so I'll be sure to pack tissues (or toilet paper haha!) because I can't stop my hormonal self from crying at pretty much everything these days.

Manakakeri, I was having the same thoughts about insurance/path of least resistance and it was so stressful trying to get it all figured out. FL sounds great compared to GA -- it is illegal for home birth midwives to practice here!! They still do it, but the state refuses to license them. I decided to go with a home birth midwife and just pay cash and try to get reimbursed by my insurance company after the birth. If a home birth is what you really want, it might be worth looking into switching to a PPO -- you wouldn't have that many appointments between now at the end of the year (3 or so?) that you'd be responsible for right? All I mean is don't just go the OB route because its easier because you might regret it later in the pregnancy.

Name: "casmer"

Weeks/Days along:
fertility friend says 6w4d, I think it's more like 6w2d

Appointments:
Progesterone and hcg labs this morning. Next week we have our new parents class and our first real appointment...so excited!

Symptoms: Super tired, thirsty, frequently peeing, some breast tenderness, mild cramps mostly in the evening, not much nausea, but WHOA food aversions...nothing sounds good.

Food: Again, mostly aversions starting last week. If I can't decide on something, I'll usually eat a couple of home-grown eggs.

Exercise:
gym a few times/week

Body changes and other milestones: nothing really, still feel bloated. I will probably need a bigger bra in a few weeks though greensad.gif

Thoughts: Having to do weekly lab draws is kinda getting my anxiety up, but it's comforting in a way too, I guess, since I'm on the progesterone suppositories. I think once we can see/hear a heartbeat soon, then we'll both feel a lot better.

Casmer, I just realized that we're the same age, expecting our firsts after years of marriage (6 for me), and have a fur/feathered family. Awesome!

Name: Maryam

Weeks/Days along: 9w 4d

Appointments: Had a midwife appointment on Friday, with another one scheduled at the end of the month. I also have another OB visit... at some point this month-ish (I need to reschedule it).

Symptoms: Aversions, cravings, nausea at night. Kinda tired all the time. Having a hard time concentrating.

Food: Making a lot of choices I wouldn't normally make, like a lot of processed (albeit organic) food, lots and lots of bread and crackers, yogurt, apples, juice. I'm obsessed with salad though, which is a good thing.

Exercise: Still walking a bunch, varying from 3-7 miles 5-6 days a week. Not really feeling up to weight exercises right now.

Body changes and other milestones: Breasts have settled at around 2 cup sizes larger than usual. I'm hoping that they don't grow much more (if at all) during the pregnancy, but I'm sure they will. I'm really bloated, especially at night, but I do look mostly normal in the morning. Clothes still fit ok but shirts are a little too short for my liking (because of the increased boobage).

Thoughts: I'm tired enough that I'm totally ineffective, but not tired enough to justify napping. It's a weird place to be. We just bought a house (yay!) and I'm trying to help get the repairs organized and it's so hard feeling like this. But it's going to have to work out.
