Well, AF arrived today after a 45 day cycle.  Figured it was time for a new thread.  I am going to call my doctor tomorrow and set up a time to figure out if my thyroid is operating as it should, since my temps are always low.  Even during the middle of the day, the highest I have every gotten was 98.04.

Hello ladies,

It sounds like many of us are going through a rough patch. Here's hoping October will bring an abundance of blessings!

I've been through my most stress-free 2WW yet, after an IUI on Sept. 16. I kept really positive, and managed to not POAS until I was one day late. The last couple days, however, have been torture. AF should have started Friday (Sept. 30)...nothing as of yet, and 2 negative HPTs. I got to thinking that maybe the Prometrium I've been on (since Sept. 16) might be altering my cycle, did a little online research, and found many women reporting late or no periods while on Prometrium. However my good friend reports she never had a late period while on it. Of course I can't call the Dr. until tomorrow. Do any of you have experience with Prometrium, taken vaginally?

I'm feeling a little crampy (but not the usual AF cramp severity), fatigued, and VERY hopeful!

Hope you all had a great weekend. I hope this is a productive month for us all.

-Amy

Hope good things happen, Amy.  Never had any experience with that med.  Hopefully tomorrow will be a great day!

lilac - sorry to hear that AF came, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that October is a good month!

amygirl - the waiting is definitely tough, sending baby dust your way!

afm - it was a really productive weekend.  i woke up saturday morning feeling a little under the weather - sore throat, headache, stuffy nose, and oh so tired.  so i slept in, went to a movie with a friend, and found myself feeling much better by the afternoon.  today, i've spent the day cleaning and playing!  got to visit my great aunt, went for a nice long run, and saw moneyball.  tonight i got impatient, i am at 13 dpo after all, and made DH come with me to walgreen's to buy a test.  BFN, but AF is not due until tuesday.  we got a pack of three - my mission is to avoid testing again until wednesday morning.  i will simply have to focus on other things.  i'm going to colorado this weekend to visit family, so i'll throw myself into work, exercise, and getting ready for the trip.

i hope everyone has a great week!

Calpurnia7, looking forward to hearing good things come Wednesday or Thursday.  I think it was RosieL who had a really long wait for her BFP.  Seems like it was 17 DPO.

Hi fellow 30-somethings.

Sorry about the arrival of af, Lilac. I hope it's back to normal for you after this weird month, and that the dr will be able to give you some answers soon. Thank you for starting the new thread!

I hope the same for you, sarafaith. I have no experience with prometrium, but it must be frustrating to have a delay but not test positive.

Sorry about the bfn, calpurnia7. I hope you get a bfp soon! I am still conflicted about running during the 2ww. I've been trying to stick to yoga, but now that the weather is more fall-like here, I love to run and miss it more than ever. On the other thread I'm active in (clomid on infertility) there are 2 women with totally conflicting views of it. But the more time that passes the more I question the utility of these changes I've been making. I think the most important thing for me is managing stress, but that's not been exactly easy with work and waiting for bfps.Hmmm, now I feel like going for a run more than ever.

Continuing, AFM, my temps were still up over the weekend, but I was feeling fine in general until some nausea last night. I kept getting bfns after the negative beta test from 5dpo. But my temp plummeted this morning, so that pretty much seals the deal that af is on the way. I hope that the great temp pattern I had going was just a test run (haha) and my body will let it happen next month.

Wishing a great one for everyone!

My opinion on running is biased, because running is like my best friend.  It has gotten me through tremendous struggles and helped me lose 25 pounds!  After spending a week last week traveling on business and feeling exhausted because of it, a weekend run was exactly what I needed.  For what it's worth, my doctor told me that fit women on average have a better chance of conceiving a baby and having a healthy pregnancy than those who aren't, and she has encouraged me to continue running through TTC'ing and into my pregnancy, as long as my body permits.  You have to do what you think is right for your body, but if running is something you love and a part of who you are, maybe consider slowing your pace and shortening your distances during 2WW?  There are some great articles on running and motherhood at www.runnersworld.com.

Keeping my fingers tightly crossed for you!

hello everybody!!! I am back in my 2ww crazy time. I think that I just O yesterday.Keep my finger cross.I did chart this month but I don t know how to share my link to my chart......

Hi to all. I miss you guys but I've been busy and just not in a good mental place to share thoughts about ttc.
I know there's lots of new faces but I want to give some shoutouts to my old skool sisters. ha.

Lilac, as always thanks so much for taking over threadkeeping for these several months. I hope it brings you lots of BFP luck!

Tickle, Bel, cath, how are you doing, girls?

Tickle and cath, are your numbers high this year. It's been a crazy school year for me, not bad but crazy I have 33 7th graders in homeroom. Four more days until a week-long fall break!

AFM,

Here's what happened today when I went to the gyno as instructed after still no BFP after 3 months on metformin. She said that since my cycles are regular and I am able to observe my CM, I am ovulating and clomid wouldn't help me but we could try it, but I said no. She gave me a pamphlet for a free seminar with the infertility clinic. She forgot I hadn't had the test to see the shape of your uterus and tubes and I reminded her. I left. I called huz, cried. He was like "why didn't you take the clomid?" and so I called back and she's sending it. I am on CD 28 or so I'll be starting it next cycle.
I'm scared of insurance costs re: infertility specialist.

Welcome back Boots!  Sounds like a crazy school year with 33 kids at once!

This is a welcome to Ncat!  Yep, I am the threadkeeper this month.  I added your information to the list at the beginning of the thread.

Reelala?  Did you change your username? I don't see you on the list and I am not sure who to associate you with.  If you aren't already on the list under another name, post the details and I can get thing added.

Amy! I totally tried to check out your charts, but there's no link. I really hope this IUI works for you. Are there reasons besides cost that a person would choose IUI over IVF? Are there less drugs involved? I read success rates are higher with IVF, and I live in a country where health care is mostly paid for, so I would like to know if there are good reasons for choosing IUI. Good luck!

lilac sorry i meant to say that i changed my username - i was formally 'sarahfaith' but it was a little too close to my real name for comfort so i had the moderator change it for me.  thanks for asking!

Hello ladies!  I hope that everything is great with everyone.  I know weather wise where I live September was very dreary - pretty much only one day of sunlight. Nicer weather is on the way -so here's to a better October!

Pitch - thinking of you...

Lilac - thanks for the new thread and sorry AF came.  I know I had my thryoid checked twice just to be on the safe side.  (I have growths that I had to have biopsied as well.)  I"m sure everything will be fine.

Amygirl - we had our IUIs on the same day.  It was my second one actually done, third attempt at one. fingersx.gif you get your BFP!  Any news?

(The prometrium does keep AF away.)  I know douching is frowned upon, but I wanted AF to come after my first cycle of IUI so I used plain water.  It took about 5 days.

Andaluza,  Calpurnia, Sweetmilk and everyone - sending well wishes your way as well.

BOOTS!  Hey!  Please don't be afraid...things have a way of working themselves out and some fertility places have great plans.  Remember Val got her BFP after her HSG, sometimes that can open up the tubes.  Even the tech that did mine said that its not proven, but there have been a significant number of women that get BFPs after having it done.  Clomid wasn't so bad...but it doesn't work for everyone.  But I was glad I tried it.

AFM beta + on Friday and it has gone up since. So I'm pregnant.  I didn't want to post because as happy as I am I'm still kind of nervous.  It took 20 months but please everyone keep up hope.  We'll all get our BFPs.

Bel - I'll be crossing my fingers and sending good juju your way!

amygirl - how are things going?  Have you tested again?

AFM, AF started, like clockwork, first thing this morning.  So glad that 2WW is over, it was a weird and hormonal month.  I expect more of them, but knowing what to expect is very helpful.  Honestly, this is going to sound nuts, but I'm kind of glad that we get more time to try.  BD'ing wanting to get pg instead of not wanting to get pg is so much more fun love.gif

I have some great take-away from this past month, the best of which are the fact that I O'd (yay!), and the fact that AF came exactly when predicted.  Both are great signs of a potentially regular cycle.  I think DH and I did our insane BD marathon too early.  But this month I can more accurately predict when we should BD.  I think it's time to pick up a cute nightie or two.

I'll be heading to CVS today to pick up a bbt and start charting temps.  Amazon.com does indeed have much better deals on O and PG tests, so I'm going to buy some online.  This weekend I travel to Denver to run a half marathon.  Kind of relieved that I don't have to cancel the race, registration is non-refundable.  I'm also very excited about Fall weather finally coming to Texas!  Time to decorate the house for fall/Halloween and get ready for a party on the 22nd.  Gotta get my greens and beet seeds planted, sprouted, and in the veg garden.  Also, I'll get to go on a much-hoped-for wine tour in Fredericksburg the weekend of the 12th.

So I have an embarrassing question - I always go potty after the BD.  Inevitably some of DH's stuff comes out.  In my opinion, this is better than a UTI.  Will this significantly hinder my chances of getting pg?  Any advice?

oops - I posted this in last months thread by accident:

Hello All!

I'm VERY new to the boards. I'll be 30 in 20 days and we'll start TTC #1 when I Ovulate in November. I'm SOOOOO excited.. and scared and nervous. I thought I'd be a cool cucumber waiting until my 30s for a baby. NOPE! lol

I've been tracking my cycle the last year and taking prenatals almost 2 years.. I just got the all clear from my OB last month - so I'm good to go! I just started checking my Basal Temp in the mornings to see if my spike lines up with the app I've been using to track my cycle.

We'll see how it goes.

Hi everyone,

First of all, welcome new members!

Bel, I'm crossing my fingers and toes for your little beanie to stick!!!  Let us know how it's going, okay?  I'll be thinking about you.

It's great to see everyone popping in again---Boots, Lilac (thanks for the thread too!), amy, calpurnia, andaluza, sweetmilk, mole, reelala---I have good feelings about this fall.  :)

Not much going on here, except my BBT chart looks like an earthquake on a seismograph.  Temps all over the place.  I was still spotting a little bit the past two days.  Nothing heavy, just waiting for my normal cycle to return.  Sigh.  Now I'm learning to understand the frustration some of you feel with wacky charts.

I scheduled another appointment on Wednesday with my Hypnofertility Specialist.  Remember I saw her for one session in August, and I was pregnant 4 weeks later.  Also I was just a happier person in general about TTC after that session.  So, hopefully I can get myself revved up again for TTC.

Oh my gosh, Bel! Yea! joy.gif

Hello and good luck to everyone this month!

I'm in the 2WW for the first time since April. We did the deed exactly once during my fertile period, so I'm not feeling particularly hopeful, but who knows. This is my first cycle using progesterone, so I'm hoping for a longer LP at the very least.

D'oh! I just realized I need to start taking prenatals again. duh.gif
