Falling into Bajingo Juice: TTC #1 in our 30s - October 2011 - Page 12

PoorUglyHappy--Thank you! smile.gif

danadavis108--Aw, what a nice thing to say. And I agree, the babymaking situation there sounds perfect! I hope you had a wonderful time!

Ncat--I am sorry about the 9-day LP... I have definitely been there. greensad.gif

lilacvioletiris--Glad to hear high temps are still continuing! Fingers crossed!

Calycanth and RosieL--thanks for the good wishes!

reelala--CONGRATULATIONS again!! Woo hoo!! joy.gif

AFM, I got a better outcome when I tested in the middle of the day on Sunday. Still not super great, but better. It's probably because my urine was more concentrated... it looked almost fluorescent yellow on the test. I got a line of a similar darkness on the FRER this morning (12 DPO), but again my urine was quite a bit more dilute-looking.

Tests_10302011.jpg

Today I was feeling good all day, thinking maybe this would work out. No spotting all day. But just now I went to the bathroom and there was some more spotting on the TP. I would really call it light red this time. I really need to call my doctor and ask what the strategy is for hormone supplementation. I had actually forgotten about this, because I quit using it after finding a lump in my breast a month or two ago (mammogram and ultrasound came back negative so it seems to be OK), but my doctor at one point put me on a prescription estrogen/progesterone cream because my blood levels of both came back low. I was wondering about progesterone supplementation and what was safe, etc. with this pregnancy. Seems stupid but it never occurred to me to actually call her. I'm sort of between providers and have only visited her once, so I think I just wasn't thinking of her as "my doctor." I'm going to send her an email right after this so I don't forget. I used a dose of the cream just now and I am really hoping I didn't do the wrong thing.

OK, enough rambling. DH is still out of town so this is kind of nervewracking.

Great news about your temps, lilacvioletiris! Hope this keeps up for you.

Oh, Ncat, sorry about your temp and possible af :( Hope your week improves.

Nice to have you back, Teamviddy. How great that would be if this is your month!

Dana, you are right, sounds like O is on the way for you!

Scowgirl, I'm hoping for you that this is just the normal implantation/early pregnancy spotting. fingersx.gif

AFM, I've had a tough day, in part because I heard from my gyn that the test only shows ovulation, negative beta. I always give myself a bit of hope, and should have even more so this month because the blood was drawn a mere 3 or 4 days after ovulation....but I don't know. I've been very emotional today and was about to convince myself to take tomorrow off from work, but I think it also has to do with the busy weekend and not enough sleep. I felt a little better seeing the cuties in their costumes. I have cramps (normal for the past few months) and my boobs are giving me strange twinges, which is different (usually just the nipples) . I told my gyn's nurse that I want to discontinue clomid, since this has been the 3rd month. She said that the gyn would still monitor me to see if I'm ovulating, so that is good news. I'll probably get a call from her trying to convince me to stay on clomid--I just have a feeling.

Take care, ladies.

I don't know.  Today's temp was my "normal high", not super high like yesterday.  DPO 10.  Usually I get a below the coverline DPO 11, then my period on DPO 12 or 13.  So here is to waiting for tomorrow.

Scowgirl, hope you can get ahold of your doctor.  The clearblue test that clearly says "pregnant" is reassuring though.  Looking forward to seeing what happens next for you.

Morning ladies.

lilac - congrats on the temps - hopefully they stay higher than normal.

Ncat - sorry about the temp drop

TeamViddy - welcome back! sounds like a great honeymoon - we leave for our official one Sunday.

Dana - fingers crossed

Scowgirl - I'm sending you positive thoughts

Andaluza - *hugs*

AF finally showed up. I looked back at my womanlog app and realized that each month my cycle has been different - 25-30 days. I never noticed that before. I guess it's always been this way - but I've only been keeping track religiously since they went away last November.  I was kinda bummed she showed up, but kinda relieved. Bummed because I was secretly hoping I was preggers.. Relieved because my period isn't MIA again and mostly because the DH really wants to conceive in South Africa - so HERE we go. CD1 is upon us. I'm excited to FINALLY be TTC. I'm hoping for the best this cycle.

Hello All,

Sorry I've been MIA for such a long time, I've been super busy!  Eating healthy, exercising, absolutely no booze... In other words, hopefully an ideal environment for BFP.  I'm at 14DPO and took a test last night... BFN.  Meh.  However, it was a strip from my HCG strip kit I got on Amazon.com, and I'm guessing those aren't as sensitive as FRER?  What do you ladies think?

AF is scheduled to start tomorrow and I've been having few to no physical PMS symptoms except for bloating, but I am moody/irritable.  Both could be due to my diet, could be due to PMS.  I have not been temping because it was stressing me out.  Either way, I'm kind of excited.  If I do get a BFP this week - I head to Dallas this weekend to hang out with my brother and his wife and will face a bit of a challenge.  We always have cocktails together, and I will have to figure out a reason why I wouldn't be drinking.  I can't tell my brother until I want my entire family to know, as he cannot keep secrets.  But that will be a good hurdle to overcome!

Congrats, Reelalla and Scowgirl!  Lilac, let's hope for a couple of nice sticky BFP's this week!

Congrats Relala!!!  And, sending you *best wishes* for more good news Scowgirl!!  I'm excited for you ladies.

I've been traveling these past few days and forgot to temp all the mornings-- ugh!  So I'm thinking my chart won't be very helpful this month..but I'm staying positive and taking lots of warm baths and trying to improve my diet after lots of halloween candy this weekend at my brother's house.  :)

Ok so now of course all I can see is the second line, but... Can you ladies please take a look and let me know what you think?  I'm definitely going to retest in the AM.

Calpurnia, the picture looks like a faint line.  Hum....what will tomorrow bring?

Calpurnia, So I took your photo and turned it to its negative.  There looks like there is a line there!

Thebyr, I hope South Africa brings you fantastic fun and fertility!

Great to stay positive, Lakeruby! Don't worry about a few missed temps.

Wow, Calpurnia7, it is possible that I see something and I am pretty sure it's pink. Also visible on lilac's negative! Test in the am and show us another picture!! joy.gif, but it seems like congratulations are already in order!!

Nothing new to report here. I am sort of at peace with another month and it will be interesting to see what my body does without the clomid.

Hi ladies! I've been out of town visiting family and it is good to be back at home, and back to the forum.

Congrats (again) to Reelala and Scowgirl!  Here's to a happy and healthy pregnancy.  Best wishes.

Thebyr - Enjoy the honeymoon! I'm glad that AF came and the timing is going to work out for the both of you.  That will be an amazing story to tell your babe.

I have my fingers crossed for your Calpurnia! I see both the pink link and the line on the negative.  I can't wait to see another positive tomorrow!

I also have my fingers crossed for you, lilacvioletiris! I hope you see a strong, high temp tomorrow morning.

AFM, I'm 9 DPO.  I ovulate somewhere between 18-22 DPO, so I have some time to stew, yet.  I plan on making some carrot soup this weekend to improve my CM.  And it sounds deliciously fall-like.  I was supposed to have a repeat HSG with tubal catheterization tomorrow in hopes of clearing up my blocked right tube.  It turns out the radiologist decided not to work.  I should've been a radiologist.  I couldn't find another that does the procedure within my network, so I will be ttc for another cycle with a blocked tube.  I'm hoping that my Chinese herbs and NAC will clear things up naturally and just surprise me with a BFP.  I'm also toying with the idea of having my RE do an ultrasound to see if I can determine what side I'm ovulating on.  That way I will know if I should get my hopes up, or not. Infertility stinks.

Again, good luck with tests and temps tomorrow morning.  Sending good vibes!

krunchyk--Here's hoping the traditional medicine helps, and that you can get in to your RE for the ultrasound. Fingers crossed!

calpurnia7--I can definitely see that line. Maybe I am getting a little too used to squinting at my own tests, but to my eye, it's there! Congratulations and good luck!!

Thebyr--glad AF is not MIA! Seems like the timing is good!

lilacvioletiris--hoping for yet another high temp tomorrow!

andaluza--I am really sorry for the news from your gyn but hoping the no-Clomid cycle goes well.

AFM--I guess it is time to bite the bullet and be moved to graduates if you don't mind, lilacvioletiris. Tests are still positive though lighter than I'd like, spotting is off and on, and we'll see what tomorrow's temp brings. Thanks for putting up with my nervous ramblings, everyone.

scowgirl, I will move you over then.

Temp this morning dropped down before my coverline so I think AF will come tomorrow or the next day.  Would have been cool to have a baby around our anniversary date, but not this year at least.

Thanks ladies for all the good vibes - but it was a false alarm.  Lesson: I will no longer POAS before AF is due!  Woke up at 5am this morning with cramps, lo and behold, AF has come for another visit.

Andaluza - Thanks! Me Too!

Krunckyk - Thank you, that would be an awesome story, hunh? Good luck to you too. I hope the herbs work for you.

Scowgirl - it is, right on time! *fingers crossed* Congrats, again! Hope to join you in the graduates soon.

Cal7 - There is always November! I guess we're officially AF twins. lol

AFM - CD2, I'm going to give temping ONE more try, since I don't want to take an OPK to SA.. but I can take my thermometer. I temp'd twice this morning - I woke up in a cold sweat because I fell asleep in too many clothes last night (painful cramps) so at 4 am - I took it and it was 96.9. I changed my bed clothes got back in the bed and took it again at my normal time - 7:30 and lo and behold - 97.4. So now I know - same time every morning and have to be sleeping comfortably (not sweating) and I'll get a normal temp. I was already very excited about TTC but this morning hubby couldn't sleep (hence me waking up at 4am) so he went downstairs.. when he came back up I asked what he had been doing and he said "reading about the right foods for my sperm." He's such a sweetie. Ok.. I need to spend the next few days washing and packing - we leave Sunday. Hopefully that will keep my mind off my oh so far away O date. lol

I need to get some more prenatals - I've been taking the gummies but I miss my iron and calcium - what are you ladies taking?

That stinks, lilacvioletiris. hug2.gif

So sorry, Calpurnia7hug2.gifbut are you completely sure it is af and not the famous signs of implantation spotting? Did you test again this am?

Thebyr, I'm taking CitraNatal, prescription from my gyn. However, I am still uncertain whether it is them or the clomid that has spawned my skin from hell. Seriously, I did not have acne like this even as a teenager, although I did suffer then. Not fun.

AFM, today is cd 11, still high high temps and still bfn, so who knows?! It looks like, based on the last 2 cycles, my temp will drop in the next 2 days if af is on the way. But I'm a little frustrated with these nice charts for the past 2 months and no bfp. Grr. I wonder if they will stay this nice without clomid.

Happy Wednesday to the rest of you!

I've been taking the Vitamin Code prenatals, and like that they are in capsules.  I'm also taking EVO, B6, D3, bee pollen/royal jelly, and some immune-boosting supps.  Would like to get back into taking cod liver oil, but I made the mistake of buying the actual oil instead of capsules (soooo much cheaper-- I take the fermented kind from Green Pastures) and it is completely revolting. :(  I am trying to use it up before ordering capsules, though.

Andaluza - I was thinking about taking the Citranatal 90s - I suffer from adult acne off and on - so maybe they would be too strong for me - if that's what's causing your problem. The other thing is that they are $35/month with my copay - kinda steep for the next year and half.

Lake - I'll have to look those up - I haven't seen them. Cod liver oil makes me gag.. I'd prefer the capsules too.

Thanks ladies.

My AF will arrive just in time for me to have to stay late at school for parent teacher conferences.

I wish it could be implantation spotting, but this is definitely not spotting.  It's all good!  My DH held me this morning and told me how beautiful he thinks I am and that he's happy this special time of us TTC'ing can last longer, the time when it's just the two of us sharing ourselves with each other.  And he does have a point, because after a baby comes all of that changes.

Hey my AF twinkie!  I think I have a few AF twinkies at work, we have all been moody and out of sorts this week, but just a theory lol.gif

I am not on prenatals yet because I take a fantastic multi that I'm considering sticking with.  Here is my full regimen:

-Nature's Way Alive! Multi with iron

-Spirulina (Whole Foods private label)

-Calcium (Whole Foods private label)

-Folic Acid (Whole Foods private label)

-Amazing Grass cacao greens powder

-Ground chia seeds (vegetarian source of EFA)

I mix the greens powder and chia seeds in a blender bottle with 6oz water and throw it back.  Take the rest of my vitamins with lemon water.  I have cleaned up my diet and snack on healthy-fatty, nutrient-rich foods.  For example, my food today:

Breakfast: whole grain toast with cottage cheese and avocado slices

Snack: sliced carrots and celery with walnuts

Lunch: spinach salad with red onion, tomato, feta cheese, olives, and a home-made dressing of olive oil and lemon

Snack: 1 green apple with cinnamon and 2tsp almond butter, 10 cashews

Dinner: 1 cup refried black beans, sauteed garlicky kale, 1 fried egg served over kale, blueberries

Treat: glass of port, small handful of granola

Other drinks: 1 cup coffee with almond milk and cinnamon, 3 cups green tea, 10 glasses water
