TTC after 1 amalgam removal following protocol for healthy mom

Hi,
I've had 3 children already; I'm in very good health but had a very old amalgam filling that was cracked just replaced. The dentist followed the holistic protocol (at my request) except for the alternative air source--but I did a pretty fine job of almost not breathing, he was fast since the filling was not that large, and he removed the dental dam afterwards anyway in order to put the new filling in.

So I wasn't having health issues in the first place--and a few days after the removal, I still feel as good as always. Just in case, though, I bought sodium ascorbate and have begun vit C supplementation, plus probiotics, and I'm alternating eating grassfed lamb liver (for the selenium) and organic sunflower seeds and almonds (for the vit E) every day in addition to taking krill oil. I also have bought kombucha with greens (chlorella) to drink.

I was wondering--since I was healthy before, and I don't feel any effects from the removal, how long I have to wait to TTC?

Additionally, would anyone recommend additional supplementation even if I'm not having any health issues, and if so, what?

Thank you!!

With a dental dam in place for removal there is no demonstrateble exposure to mercury. The outside air and "special supplements" are not evidence based.

Basically, you TTC whenever you want. Your real mercury risk is in consuming  shark, swordfish and certain types of tuna.

I'll be interested to read any further responses.

I had a filing removed 5 months before my youngest was conceived.  I did not take any supplements (didn't know about them) afterward & only had the dental dam in my mouth (no alternative air, etc.).  I've had yeast issues & they were the worst when pregnant w/ him (I have three children all together).  He has more severe food sensitivities than both his older sis & bro combined :-(.  I don't believe it is because of the filing removal, but in hindsight, I'm sure it didn't help.

Is there a way to test your body for mercury?  Perhaps you could look into that & test it now & then in 3 months & see if there is a change.  Perhaps that would give you some information.

I just went to a new dentist that specializes in safe mercury removal. I will be having all my fillings removed in the next few months. They use all necessary precautions, as well as oxygen.

Afterwards, I will go to my ND and see about a mercury cleanse. I'll keep you posted!
