CA governor signed bill prohibiting cities from banning circumcision
Am I the only person who recognizes how serious this is OUTSIDE of intactivism? Because just in neutral, objective political terms, this is HUGE. This is the clanking of slave chains being pulled out of storage, not just for baby boys, but for anybody who thinks they have a right to political speech and action.
Escape while you still can.
California is weird because of the greater respect and acceptance of extremism at both ends of one of the genuinely fundamental political struggles -- liberty vs. security. You can have some of both, but the more you have of one, the less you're likely to have of the other, and eventually, you reach a tipping point where you have so much of one that you end up with less of both.
More laws give you more safety, but you pay for it with less liberty, and eventually too many laws ends up depriving you all that safety you gained plus even more because you don't have enough liberty to protect yourself from the lawmakers themselves.
More liberty gives you more freedom, but you pay for it with less security, and eventually too much freedom ends up depriving you of all that liberty you gained plus even more because you don't have enough security to protect yourself from anyone.

Get out of California, and the sooner the better.
