Just curious: Who's still nursing a "baby" the month before our Due Month?? - Page 2

DD, at 30 months, is still nursing 3 + times a day - for sleep purposes and comfort purposes only. She asks for it any time my breasts or cleavage are in view, but unless she's tired or crying, I tell her no. Her latch has become horrible, I don't know why. I have newborn-style nipple issues now, which is why the nursing is severely curtailed. getting her to sleep at night takes a LONG time because I have to keep unlatching her, and asking her to relatch. In the day we talk about what makes a good latch, but it seems to be something else. She starts off good, then the latch degenerates into pain. Perhaps she doesn't like the taste of the colostrum? I was so hoping she'd wean when I lost my milk at around 24 weeks, but it's absolutely about comfort and sleep associations for her. She also needs to do some serious groping in order to sleep, which drives me to distraction, and there is absolutely nothing I can do to get her to stop. She claims she "NEEDS to feel the squishy" in order to sleep. I have big boobs, and yes they are a little squishy. No substitutions will suffice.

So we will be tandem nursing. I am worried about it.

Still nursing my almost 4yo to sleep (at night and his occasional naps). I'm still fighting with the nursing heebie jeebies, even though I have a little bit of colostrum, but I'm struggling through. I'm actually trying to use those moments as practice for labor - consciously breathing and trying to relax. It is HARD though greensad.gif
