LOL, took me a while too. I kept just knitting in a straight line and wondering what I was doing wrong...:

Yes but I don't care for the way I joined the yarn. IT looks sloppy IMO

The more practice the better I guess just so long as I don't give up teaching myself lol!

Hmmm... it shouldn't look like anything other than a regular stitch... are you sure you're doing it right?

I just didn't stitch it tight enough.....it looks loose

Hey can I ask you another question?

On the LTK pattern ribbing after you k2 (that's knit 2 rows right?) then p2 (purl two rows? and do that for a total of 10 rows...(I'm making the large size for my son).....

I thought I was doing it right & went through the whole ordeal of knit 2 stitches, purl 2 stitches and it didn't work very well for me so I figured I was doing something wrong?
:LOL Knitting is sure teaching me PATIENCE!

Ooooo, sadly no. k2Pp2 means knit 2 stitches, purl 2 stitches. When you do it you will be pleasantly surprised by your ribbing!

Hang in there...

My stitches look twisted when I purl. I keep taking them out & trying to make look right..... any secrets? I don't think this is how its supposed to be but then again I obviously don't know :

Kimberley - have you seen this website?

http://www.stitchguide.com/stitches/knitting/index.html

I got it off of here - it has a little video for each stitch type. This really really helps me.

I just wanted to jump in and say keep working at it. I ripped out my ribbing 2 or 3 times on my first soaker. Mine was all twisted at first too. I don't know any secrets, I just kept a it.

Good luck!

You are probably not starting with the yarn in the right place. When you purl the yarn should be in front. If you are purling but still pulling the yarn from the back it will look twisted...

Okay I think I've had it all along? It just doesn't look right! I'll try going for 10 rounds like suggested and then I'll re-evaluate......
