14 month old, 3 brown teeth!

I x-posted this on Holistic Moms and got some great advice but I figured I'd hit up the forum as well.

My 15 month old has three top teeth that are not thriving. They have brown spots (one is chipped ever so slightly from a tumble) despite the fact that he really doesn't drink juice or have sugar-y stuff, AND gets brushed twice daily. He does still wake and feed throughout the night (once? twice) and I tried to subsitute water but it did NOT go over well...

The third tooth is just coming in, and it's coming IN all..distored. Brown stuff and it looks like half of it is missing? It's only about halfway through. I am going to be making a dentist appointment this week with a holistic dentist but I just wanted some feedback...what could this be from? Is it a result of chipping the first tooth? Is it genetic (my father has HORRIBLE teeth..) am I doing something completely wrong?

Whew, so many questions. Thanks!

When DD1 first got her teeth, they came in looking brownish. I was really concerned, but when they grew all the way in, they turned white and are perfectly fine. I'm not sure if your situation is the same or not. Definitely ask a dentist!
