There's no thread for ultrasound pictures over here yet! Unless I missed it. :-p Here you go!

34 weeks, 3 days. 6 lbs. 9oz!

We're at the same time in our pregnancies and it's crazy to think my baby could be that big already! My son was 9lb 15oz at birth, and this one seems to be going that direction too.

Wow, my ds was 6lbs 9oz at birth. I doubt I will get more u/s's unless my midwife can't tell what position she is in.

Oh my goodness, TTCChloeOrConner, you've got me nervous now about the potential size of my baby! I'm due just 2 days after you. Question: Have you measured big at all or have you been right on track? I'm hoping my baby is just a mere 5 lbs right now but I doubt it... lol

The doctor is guessing he'll be around 8lbs9oz at birth. GAH!!! I was 8lbs15.5oz when I was born, so it really doesn't surprise me.

As for my measurements... At 25 weeks, I was measuring 30. At 29 weeks, I was measuring 33. At 31 weeks, I was measuring 34. And at 33 weeks, I was measuring 35. So I've been measuring big the whole time, but I've been "catching up".

He's been head down since my 28-week ultrasound (When he weighed a mere 2lbs14oz), so at least he's cooperating in that sense!

The doctor's giving us another ultrasound at 37 weeks to make sure he's not HUGE! =) All I'm saying is, I wouldn't be upset if they induced me at 38 weeks because of his size. LOL I got a couple of boxes of newborn diapers I'd like to be able to use. =p

I have a friend that's due three days before me and her little girl was "only" 5lbs1oz at her U/S last week... Must be nice, LOL.

I'm curious how you're measuring too. I've been ahead a couple cm this pregnancy, and at 34w measured 38, but that's how it was last pregnancy too. And I'm only 5'2".

Oh goodness, you know how unreliable ultrasounds can be for estimating size! I know sooo many people who were told their baby was giant, but at birth the us was off by a pound or more.  And then there's my little sister, who was told her baby needed to come out because the doctor decided from an us that she was not growing in utero; that baby turned out to be big for dates, actually.  I would definitely NOT do an induction for his size.  You grew that baby, and you can birth him when he's ready.

Yup, and I think a lot of times docs just like to use the "big baby" card in order to schedule a birth (c section or otherwise).  There are plenty of women who birth 9+ lbs babies naturally with no issues  My friend (a very, very slim lady) does it all the time.  She grows big babies- and even had a VBAC without complication.  I certainly would reject an induction because of size too.  It's frivilous and risky.

1 of my boys was 9.4, and the other boy was almost 9 (he decided to come at 39 weeks, so I think he would have been the same as his older brother if he'd taken that extra week).  I would say that my first birth was the most painful, and she was only 8.4.  I think the first time was the hardest for me, regardless of whatever size she would have been, because I was nervous and didn't have great support.  It will be okay, don't be afraid, you can do it!  There are lots of risks associated with induction, you've gotta let him stay in as long as he needs to.

I'm 5'7", and 120 lbs when I'm not pregnant. I've birthed two 9 lbers with no problem! If you can grow it, you can birth it!

Oh, I won't actually let him induce me. =p I'm just tired of being pregnant, LOL. Plus I really will be bummed if I can't use these newborn diapers or newborn clothes that everyone got for him!

Newborn stuff is silly for a lot of us. Someone gave me a ton of newborn clothes and I saw they were for 5-8 lbs. Really?! He'd have to wear them in utero! My last was 9lbs 7oz and could not fit into newborn clothes or diapers.

Of course, even knowing that I bought some newborn diapers. Disposables, though. Not sure why... Guess I forgot that day!

Yeah, I think that newborn clothes are only good if you want to take a few cute newborn photos.  Ha ha.  It's nice to have 1-2 outfits that fit perfectly for the first few days, but really, they grow SO fast.  Newborn clothes are a dime-a-dozen at the thrift stores and they all still look brand new.  No one should ever buy them new!  :)

lol, my DD was in newborn for a while. She was only 6lbs full term though. I just make small babies. :)
